Dude you are aware there’s nuclear subs all around the world at all times yes? It’s not impossible one could hit pretty far into the US if it was so inclined by Russia or China (I’m not sold on how good their tech is since they’re a lot more secretive about theirs than we are.) Also there’s likely some type of cartel infrastructure or operation in and around wherever you live.
My point is there are way larger things to melt down about than a few foreign armed fighter jets training with us on our soil.

The whole point is that this arrangement was not clearly presented in the sources available to me and the wording made it sound like Qatar had just bought themselves a base in the US. Given that nothing surprises me anymore, I was alarmed!

It's for training for all the F15's we sold them. It's common and has been for a very long time. It's not just airforce either we've been running Malaysians through Seal Training for a long arse time for one. Not to mention NATO stuff.

The facility to be built at Mountain Home AFB will host a contingent of Qatari F-15s.
Qatar has a total of 36 fricking F-15s in their entire AF.
Mountain Home AFB is home to about 60 US F-15s.
Nevermind the US has over 1,000 fighter aircraft based in CONUS bases alone.
What kind of Trojan horsing around do you think is even remotely possible when the Qatar aircraft will NOT have live fire capabilities?
