It basically comes down to having respect for all life, regardless of how it came into being. If we love and respect life simply because it is created by God and do not put qualifications on whether it’s worthy (I.e., result of a rape or has a birth defect, too old, sick, poor, etc ), that should translate to a better society.

The womb should be the safest place on the planet and is for all species except humans and we supposedly have superior intellect.

Is it any wonder that the black community has the highest abortion rate and the highest violence and murder rate? What’s the correlation?

St John Paul II called it the “culture of death”. It’s time for a culture of life. Children and families are good.

I believe in the heartbeat bill. If you are clinically considered dead when your heart stops beating, then it lends to logic that you would be clinically considered alive when your heart begins beating.

That allows for abortion up to the point the heart is beating. thats around 5 to 6 weeks.

Repeal Roe v Wade. Send the decision back to the states. Have the populous vote on the heartbeat bill. Majority wins.

Only if you believe the narrative that Republicans are the racist party. (hint: they're not)

Republicans are for personal responsibility. Dems are not. Its why most repubs will support capital punishment and Dems wont.

I think about half of Republicans are not totally against abortions. But most are against mid-late term abortions - big difference.

Margaret Sanger agrees with this message. Can't have those Irish and blacks taking over.

It has always been strange to me that republicans are for hunting and against killing babies and democrats are against killing everything but babies.

The wages of sin is death. The unborn hasn't had a chance to choose to repent and accept Christ. Criminals who choose to resist arrest and die at the hands of law enforcement have had plenty of chances to make other choices. Murderers on death row have had plenty of chances to make other choices and they still can choose to repent and get right with God before paying an earthly penalty. The unborn who are aborted do not have that right.

As far as hunting goes, God told Peter in Acts "Rise Peter, Kill and Eat". God gave man dominion over all creatures. And then we were encouraged to take those lives to sustain ours.

That would be perhaps relevant if that were the actual wording of the Commandment.

The Hebrew verb used in the Torah commandment is usually transliterated to the Roman alphabet as “ratsah.” The Hebrew word which translates best as simple "killing" is transliterated as “harag.”

A word-for-word translation for "ratsah" is impossible, because it was a concept for which there is no perfect analogue in modern English usage. It was a criminal act which is most-closely analogous to our definitions of "murder" meaning that the best translation is "Thou shalt not murder."

Or are you one of those scholars who insists that Moshe probably spoke English?

Again, abortion of unwanted pregnancies was common in the ancient world, and "ratsah" was a serious crime. AGAIN, God went into agonizing detail about unbelievable minutiae. If He felt strongly that the common practice of abortion constituted "ratsah," one would expect Him to have said so SOMEWHERE in the 600,000 words of the Old Testament.

You think God prohibited it because YOU do not like it. You are applying confirmation bias in translating from the Hebrew.

OK. Thou shalt not murder.

As in making a conscious decision to end a life and the facilitator making money by doing it.

Hebrew language doesn't change the spirit of the law. Similar to Jesus explaining that lust was just as much sin as adultery.

Don't forget about white women that sleep with other races and get abortions. I personally know 2 white girls (well, they're women now) that slept with black dudes and got abortions. For the main reason that "they weren't having a black dudes bastard kid". I heard that come out of one of their mouths! Repugnant women. I occasionally still see one of them. I try to avoid her like the plague.

If someone wants an abortion, that's between them and God. I just don't think that it should in any way be paid for by tax money that I contribute.

but in most cases it saves tax payer money in the long run. Of course in the case of rape or if the baby is defective, then the mother should be able to abort the baby. She shouldn't have to suffer twice, both the rape by some stinking mentally defective scum and then again having to bear the evil spawn of of that thing. But in normal cases, I do have a problem with a perfectly healthy baby being aborted, especially without the mututal consent of the father of the kid.
It just seems that republicans would be on board with the individual rights and decisions of the parents and that dems, who normally like to legislate how people have to live, would be on the side of not leaving that decision up to the individuals.

really it doesn't seem it should be a left or right thing, nor a rep./dem thing, but more about individual morals and perhaps religion. I just don't get how the republican part became associated with being absolutely against abortions and how that became such a huge plank of the party.

Same reason the Republicans opposed slavery and the Democrats supported it. A belief that all life is sacred and should only be taken when one refuses to respect the lives of others.

Biden wants to give Khalid Sheik Mohammed a pass from the death penalty, but wants to then kill babies.

i think most likely the republican party's coalition with the Christian right in the 80s and 90s lead to this.

i've become much more libertarian in most of my views (drugs, gay marriage, war, etc) as i came into my 20s and 30s in the 90s and 2000s, but abortion is the one view i never changed on.

Because Republicans believe in people taking responsibility for their actions. Accidently creating a human being does not give you the right to terminate that life.
Having said that, there are legitimate special cases in which abortion is justified.

Idk about that. Most threads on here that discuss abortion always have Bibles verses and phrases like “we are all Gods children”

i am explicitly against abortion because of Biblical reasons. i believe in personal responsibility, but the sanctity of life is a more important factor to me. it's evolved my opinion on the Death Penalty and War greatly, and contrary to the standard Republican opinion.

So this is kind of heartless but think of all the Democrat votes that don’t exist today because of abortion.

Hell if not for abortion the Republicans might not be able to win an election anywhere.

I used to get on here and raise hell about abortion and I still think it's one of the most evil acts a person can do. If I go outside and shoot my dog in the head I can get arrested and charged with a felony but a woman can kill a human baby and is seen as a hero. What kind of kind of fricked up world do we live in where this is allowed to happen?

Anyway after I found out the type of people who are getting abortions, I'm to the point where I don't give a shite anymore. Hell we should build more clinics in the big cities and the hoods.

Abortion is also another Democratic tool used against black people yet they will blindly follow their masters where ever they take them because it's always the evil white man that is killing them.

The liberals on here that argue for abortion is like being in a war and every time one of your buddies get killed you cheer on the enemy.
