Because no one wants to be the one to admit that the only way to bring any sort of semblance of peace is to invite the people we've been trying to kill to the negotiation table as a political party

To protect the deep state's poppy fields which they use to manufacture the heroin they sell on the black market, fueling America's opioid crisis.

Remember, for all of the terrible things the Taliban did, they eradicated poppy cultivation, which didn't resume until after the U.S. retook most of the country.

That old excuse of "We have to stop them over there to stop them over here" is bs.
Didn't we learn anything from Vietnam?
It's time to bring the troops home.

You can't un-ring that bell. The Taliban will now force people to grow poppies to fund their operations.

I was a soldier and I served in Afghanistan and Iraq. What needs to happen is bring the Taliban to the table as a legitimate political party. Considering the other political powers in the region they are actually pretty moderate. We accomplished our initial goal of dismantling terror networks operating from there long ago.

Didn’t Obama campaign on pulling out the soldiers from Afghanistan? Guess he didn’t have time in his 8 years.

If I told you why we still have an army there, you'd laugh.

If I told you why we are still in Syria, you'd cry.
