re: Why are Dems not 100% IN on Texit?

Certainly not from an inflated centralized government that imposes excessive federal regulations,
No one has suggested that, but you’re not answering where it is coming from. You’re supposing how it might be generated in some imagined texit. And will all these energy companies domiciled in other states with operations outside of Texas be allowed to keep their assets? Operate in foreign countries as freely without the protection of US diplomacy and military backing?
Tx at this point is too tied into the broader US finances and *gulp* reliant on globalism to entertain texit. The $ in Tx outside of a few obscure rich weirdos will never back this sophomoric exercise.

cwill, why do you think most people who are anti-TEXIT mix-in veiled and not-so-veiled insults when discussing this topic?
It’s an occurrence I’ve noticed repeatedly.
This isn’t a passive-aggressive question; I’m sincerely curious about your opinion on the matter.

It’s absurd and it’s always the same type of people.

All socialists are tyrants. They need to oppress someone. They can't live and let live.

This. Once Texas is gone other states will have to follow.
Lib states are a disaster. They will have no oil, no electricity, no plastic straws, men will use the women's bathroom, and be in their locker rooms, and compete in their sports.
It is time we let the libs have the part of this country that wants to remain in their communist utopia where men are women and women are men. You will NOT want to attend their sporting events.

They are just waiting for the demographics to shift enough until Texas is blue via illegal immigration from central america and liberal transplants from failing blue states out west and up north. Texas is the hot state but it is not attracting a very savory class of new citizens. The liberals and free loaders will flush Texas down the toilet just like california as soon as they get the numbers.

Revolution. Not a civil war.
The military will not be turned on its own people again. The government knows it will lose that battle.
I always love when bright people say “do you really think the citizenry can overcome the military and all their weapons?” These people have no idea that what they are saying is ignorant at best, and helplessly stupid at worst.
The military would be beyond fractured, to the point that it would interrupt the war-making capabilities that the military would normally have. Cant get planes and choppers and UAVs in the air if the maintainers don’t work them. Cant run hungers on patrols if they don’t get fueled, and the officers damn sure won’t gas them up on their own.
And that is before you talk about the fact that a polarizing topic like this, and using the military to act on it, would IMMEDIATELY expose the war-fighting infrastructyre to massive sabotage by those who would not support an unlawful decision to attack citizens by the government.
A Revolution may happen in the US, but we will not see a civil war again.
If you want to know what a Revolution would look like, check out how many folks were around the capital. If they wanted to get in at that point and really change the nation by dragging politicians from their offices and FORCING change, they could have easily done so.
A Revolution would take advantage of a day like that, or even an unsuspecting day, and do whatever their objectives were before there could even be any response. Then it would end as quietly as it began.

If Texas had the votes you'd see a domino effect of other red states immediately looking to join us. The country would split down political lines.
Posted on 1/27/21 at 5:39 am to Meauxjeaux
Marxism/socialism/communism have to be global. If they aren’t, people flee to havens, which is what Texas would become. Can’t be allowed.
Posted on 1/27/21 at 5:44 am to Meauxjeaux
Because Texit is extremely dumb. The assumption that what is holding back Texas’s wealth is the federal government is hilarious. There are costs to having an independent country that none of those people seem consider.
Posted on 1/27/21 at 6:04 am to Meauxjeaux
Because they need to control the entire country . If they let Texas leave then other states will want to leave and there will be nothing left but states that want hand outs .

Yep - the point of Amnesty
After that - you have several million voters that would destroy the conservatives in TX anyway
That’s way TX is getting desperate

Texas is a great feeder program for going BLUE, with open borders and give-away programs to illegals.

It is interesting. Most of the conservatives I know – including myself – were fully on board with the CalExit movement.

Where do you think the $$$ comes from to fund the growth?
Mostly from private businesses making products and providing services consumers want. Those consumers provide money to those product manufacturers and service providers that they earned working.
The money doesn't come from the federal government, it comes from the people. The government TAKES money from people (and borrows from foreign governments) to make it appear it has money, but the reality is all capital originates from work, not from government.
Posted on 1/27/21 at 7:58 am to Meauxjeaux
They still think they will turn Texas blue. That and they need republicans to pay for their socialism.
Posted on 1/27/21 at 8:03 am to Meauxjeaux
The blue state filth have to have the people to make the money so the commies can distribute it.
Remember, only Capitalism can stand on its own as an economic system. Socialism and Communism have to have someone do the work to make the money.
In the USA, the Capitalist do that by default.

According to the leftist myth, red states are a drain on blue states.
And they can still print all the money they want without the red states.
They're really all out of arguments, unless they want to walk back some of their long-told-lies.
