Guaranteed control of the legislative and executive, and subsequently judicial, branches for the next 100 years, minimum.

Every major city plus the valley went blue. Why wouldn’t they just wait it out? We have a lunatic fringe that is killing our brand and credibility.

Right, THAT is the fricking problem.
Any white person who voted for the racist is way more "lunatic" and "fringe" than anybody on the right.
"our brand" - Romney, McConnell, McCarthy, Cheney - such inspirational fricking leaders!
That "lunatic fringe" really has to work overtime to sully those dynamos.

This is a very good point. Please create a tittypussyesque handle and go post this on DU like it’s a wonderful thing. Use their stupidity against them.

Because no one takes texit seriously except for some aggies that don’t know how the economy of Texas works.

I’m no Aggie and understand plenty about the Texas economy and also know we can stand on our own.

Where do you think the $$$ comes from to fund the growth?

Certainly not from an inflated centralized government that imposes excessive federal regulations, thereby shrinking the paychecks of Texans by 75%. On the contrary, it comes from Texans turning their backs on all things US federal government. There’s a reason businesses are flocking here.
The lack of an income tax alone will turn Texas into an international haven for wealth and foreign investment, resulting in an increase in government revenue, better schools, improved infrastructure, and additional tax breaks.
Available data show a correlation between increased consumer spending and an increase in household income at a near 1:1 ratio. With those numbers, Texas can: eliminate the property tax; leave the sales tax rate untouched; and still produce an increase in government revenue, over and above what Texans currently pay to both the state and federal governments.
