Groupthink more prevalent in densely packed communities. Rural folks more likely to think for themselves.

“Elephants in Rooms” is a good channel to follow. Ken does the research for you on many topics and lists it in the description of the video. You can get a pretty good historical overview of the topic in just 20-25 minutes, and many of the topics are somewhat controversial but need discussion. (Hence the name of the channel lol)

rural people are hard working people. work builds character and appreciation for things.
I can only speak anecdotally of this, but our three children grew up working in our multi-neighbor vast communal garden from a young age. They earned any allowance and had part time jobs when they came of driving age. The boys got STEM degrees and our daughter is now a stay at home mom after a few years as a physical therapist. They have varying political views but nothing left of (right-) center, and they are always packing. (I raised Glock kids, who always say ma’am and sir).

I can’t speak of how they would be different if they were raised in an urban area because that would have only happened if they were kidnapped.

It’s not difficult to understand. More minorities, immigrants, and government employees live in major cities and they vote heavily democrat

Because white people are generally split 50/50 politically, so in cities with large populations of minorities, democrats will always win.

I'll give it a listen but I'd always assumed that. You're much, much more reliant on government in a large metro area so it's normal to want a nanny state.

That's essentially it, but he goes into a bit more depth explaining why that is, with some solid examples. That reliance also extends to over-reliance to the point where people have been so conditioned to the mindset of "that's someone else's job" that they don't even think to try doing some things themselves. In the comments section someone noted they had moved to a large city after spending their life in a rural area. One day the grass-covered lot near their apartment started smoking. The commentor immediately sprang into action putting the burgeoning fire out, instead of calling 9/11 and waiting for the fire department to show up (the commentor had the fire just about done by the time the fire department showed).

He really does a good job of explaining how urban and rural are different worlds with different needs and how those impact worldview and voting.

This isn't correct. It's much harder financially to move to the city from the suburbs or rural areas than the other way around, due to lots of factors (such as cost of living, lower salaries in rural areas, etc.). Rural areas are notoriously poorer than cities and suburbs.

It's more accurate to say that people in cities who want more land to live on / a quieter environment or can't afford to remain in the city leave the cities for the suburbs. Crime has nothing to do with it if you can afford to live in the nice parts of the cities.

I really don't care..... but probably has something to do with urban areas having a huge number of minorities living in the terrible conditions their culture has created and having the government leaders telling them its not their fault and promising more and more free shite paid for by our taxes.
