Is that why the Left has a love affair with Big Corporations?

Unfortunately, it isn't just limited to Tech....

No, but tech is definitely the most powerful when it comes to steering an exponentially increasing politicalization of everyday life. They can bury or remove any information they deem as dangerous to their cause. That's pretty Orwellian.

We have dealt with it in the past on lower tech levels and it just increases the viability of underground or alternative media. Most great social movements in this country have come through the underground

The government. 99% of corporations simply operate to make money, pay their employees, pay their shareholders, and be a general benefit to their communities. If you have to focus on the ones trying to act like the government to argue that side, it's clearly the government. Any corporation given the ability and in many cases authority to control the citizens, it is simply an arm of the government.

I'm sure alternatives will likely appear, but big tech will do everything in their power to combat it, including using the long arm of the government. Hell, we're still dealing with the beer distribution bullshite 80+ after it's enactment.

quote:I agree with all of this. I'm just saying that those companies doing what they are doing has got nothing to do with the nature of corporations. The fact that they choose a side politically is a key indicator, as alienating huge groups of potential consumers is anything but corporate.
You don’t even know what you’re arguing, just more “Muh free market” nonsense. Do you not see a problem with Facebook, YouTube, Google and the way they are so aligned with not only the intelligence community but the Democrats? Democrats and Big Tech are aligned in trying to make “hate speech” a broad term that can be applied to all opposition.

The government has never created a damn thing. Not once.
