They need to either nominate someone who is sane, experienced, well-measured, and has bonified blue-collar credentials (Jim Webb type), a professional seeming true believer socialist (Sanders or Warren), or they need to nominate their own celebrity billionare to try and beat Trump at his own game (Oprah, Bezos, Cuban, etc)
What they will nominate will be a color-by-numbers minority with a straight up identity politics platform straight out of a tumblr rant by a 3rd wave feminist pan-sexual who identifies as a dragon-kin.

Joe Biden will be too old in 2020. Same with Sanders. Their times have passed.
I could see Joe Kennedy being on the bottom of that ticket, or even the ticket being Joe on top, Kamala on bottom.

I honestly believe the DNC will go full-retard and have Mitch at the bottom of the ticket. I could see Booker being the nominee. Sadly, I think that ticket might actually make for a very competitive race.

Kamala Harris. She's the only one who can check the necessary race and ideological boxes. She would represent the same sort of threat that Obama did. There isn't a non-minority candidate on the dem bench who could motivate their needed special interest groups to beat Trump.
