I am. I think all Jews should live in Israel.

Of course that is a bullshite definition being now propagated.

Zionists are now, and always have been Jewish state expansionists.
PERIOD!
E.g., Zealots pushing for expansion of Jewish settlements into Palestinian territories. Expansion of the "homeland" into the footprint of "Greater Israel." Etc. In that sense, very few of us are Zionists.

BUT ... by your definition Zionism is simply an acknowledgement of opposition to calls for a killing of all Jews from the River to the Sea.

Israel has a right to exist.

Does that statement make one a "Zionist"?
Not in my book it doesn't

does believing that Jews should be allowed to have one country in a sea of 57 Islamic countries make me a Zionist?

Belief in the right of a Jewish state to exist is the core tenet of Zionism.

Why does this one case have its own dedicated “-ism” label, when the underlying idea (A group having its own country) is something many people accept as normal for most peoples and countries?

"ism" just identifies it as a "movement".

It isn't the only case.

For example, Bolshevism was a movement to install the ideals of the Bolsheviks over the entire Russian empire.

The state of Israel did not exist prior to 1948. It was forced upon the residents of that region by the British Mandate for Palestine, which was the result of tremendous political pressure exerted on British politicians by prominent Jews in England.

Yes, I know Jewish kingdoms existed in the same region a couple of thousand years ago, but they were subject to the dominance of various foreign empires.

It is quite understandable to me why the Arabs would not be happy with a portion of their territory being forcibly handed over to the Jews in the form of a nation-state. Particularly those whose descendants has controlled that land for centuries.

Add to that, the tremendous emotional impact of control over territory that 3 major religions consider to be "holy".

For the record, I am neither pro nor anti Israel. It exists. That is reality.

But I don't support the US being their big-brother defender who comes to their aid every time one of their neighbors lashes out at them.

The Zionists made their bed (got what they wanted). They should be left on their own to defend what they have.
