In the US, I'm not sure. I guess you could be a nationalist who wants to overthrow the government for some reason. That would be unpatriotic nationalism.

"White nationalism" carries the racist connotation of one who believes in the supremacy of the white race.
This is different than being a nationalist who is white.

Nothing wrong with either. But the combination does attract more than it's fair share of fringe racists.
