Here's the problem, everything you think has been proven time and time again to be completely retarded.

You see a lot of those where I split the payment up between multiple checks in a month.
At any rate I get it. I'm dumb and you guys are just assholes.
The price of tuition needs to drop and the interest needs curbed on this shite.
I mean no disrespect and I'm not being an a-hole. But before you spend another dime on anything, you need to hire a financial planner immediately. Make this a priority like you'd see a doctor if you had a heart attack tonight.
No gainfully employed individual should be this ignorant about the basic principals of finance. Save yourself man - save your future!

you could have done that without making payments throughout

But from jump, everyone knew that was a bet on or against forgiveness.
there's no upside to betting against forgiveness though. should just make one big payment in august.

This one is on the money.

Seems like he is simply paying for votes. Hard to believe this would be legal.

I laugh every time I see someone in one of these student loan threads bragging or complaining about how they’ve made every payment since the moratoriums started.
Like why? Maybe those are the people Rog means when he talks about people who don’t understand basic math.

Its not enough individually to really help many, but puts a big burden on the taxpayer/consumer.
I would be surprised if this excited a lot of people it benefits. Might even do the reverse if inflation continues.

But I guess having large swathes of our educated population unable to participate in the economy is no big deal

Quit whining, bitch.

The point is that the cost of college has been consistently rising while wages have not, making it hard for graduates who didn't have their parents pay to participate in the economy. But I guess having large swathes of our educated population unable to participate in the economy is no big deal

Try not going into massive debt for an Arts degree. Your major and associated career prospects are your own fault, no one else's.

A drop in the bucket compared to their overall student loan debt?
10k is like a semesters worth of loans in some cases

This was my favorite.
Poor guy can't even "participate in the economy" because of that $300 student loan bill. His poor little world is crumbling.

The average amount of outstanding SL debt is less than 50k per borrower.

I would have much rather they waived the interest (or reduced it) so I could just pay off my principal in a reasonable fashion.

How much debt you have that a $10k balance reduction wouldn't be better than dropping the interest?
Or did you just graduate?

Unless you are in a certain demographic you will never see it. You will see it on your tax bill though.

Just graduated with my Masters. Went CC and state for undergrad when I went back to school. I was paying on them during grad school while they were in deferment (due to being enrolled) and put the payment back during the pause so I'll throw a large chunk down without the interest.

Fair enough. Congrats on graduating.

big burden on the taxpayer/consumer
Also have you made up your mind yet whether it’s a lot of money or not a lot of money? Seems like you think it’s only a little money when borrowers pay it but it’s a lot of money when taxpayers pay it. Weird.
