Faith and Family are two incredibly important adhesives that bind our society together and keep it functional and health, and both have long been under attack by leftists intent on destroying this country and replacing it with a Marxist nothingness that, contrary to faith, gives absolutely no free will to anyone, yet demands we all bow to it’s tenets and observances. There must be a counter to that if we really want to save this country, and that counter to that dystopian nightmare is the word of God. This explains why it is so despised by the left, and in their own words, has no place at their gatherings.

I can think of nothing more powerful and essential than America returning to the faith of our fathers so to speak in order to save this once great country of ours. There are moral standards that are irrevocable and essential to maintaining a civilized society for all. They aren’t relative. They are absolutely critical and proven.

I would like to see recognition of Jesus Christ as the King of kings and Lord of lords, even being the highest authority over America, where all laws and regulations are created ultimately for His glory and the good of the citizenry in light of His rule.

I don’t like women “pastors” being the ones driving this office.

Which type of christianity will get the favoritism?

Are we talkin Catholics, or are we talkin rural white suburbia nondenominational type pastors?
Does the leader wear a robe, or does he wear bedazzled jeans, affliction style shirts and fossil watches?

I could say the same thing about you.

Also, all governments are subservient to Jesus as Lord and all rulers will give an account to Him.

She wears 'tallits'...

You're right, though... While faith can inform politics, this smacks more of Politics informing Faith- which it has to, really, for such an 'office' to work. All of the feel-good, all of the inclusivity... no real doctrine. It is a mistake for Trump to try threading this needle.

Is that the Journey keyboardist she’s married to? He knows how to pick the moneymakers and hang around.

Also, at least 2/3 of the appointments are female... I'm not personally comfortable with female 'pastors'.

This. The father is the head of the home. The issues that have driven to create this is lack of good men in the head of their household positions.

Advisors is one thing but acting as head of the spiritual family, isn't what's needed.

It’s heresy, and at some point these churches are not longer Christian.

Why? You might not like to be instructed by a woman or led by a woman. That’s fine (I can sympathize with you).

However, the early church was filled with women as financiers, leaders, and teachers. Paul calls them “apostles”. Read Romans 16. Phoebe, Priscilla, Junia. It’s tough to be an apostle and not spread the good news by teaching.

In some Greek manuscripts “Junia” (female name) is replaced by “Junius” (male name). Obviously some later scribes were pissed that the early church held women in such high regard.

That’s one reason why “Timothy” is known to scholars as a forgery. Paul didn’t write it. 1 Timothy 2:12 says…
quote:

I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.

Which contradicts the real historical Paul’s own real writings and actions.

Psalm 2:10-12

It says nothing of the sort, and meant nothing of the sort when it was composed either during or post Babylonian exile.

Your hypocrisy is on display, as you “re-interpret” aka twist the original meaning of scriptures just like Paul and the original Christians did. You take the scripture completely out of context.

Psalm 2 is about the return of the messiah (the anointed king chosen by Yahweh) as he restores the kingdom of Judah (the earthly king sits atop Mount Zion - that’s how we know the author is talking about Jerusalem and is not talking about the northern kingdom).

Psalm 2 is a great complement to Deuteronomy 32:8-9 and also Psalm 82. Psalm 2 mentions the earthly kings of the nations and their heavenly gods assigned to them as each’s inheritance from El Elyon. Psalm 2 mentions the divine council - a meeting in the heavens of the gods - in this case conspiring against the god (Yahweh) whose inheritance is Israel/Judah.

Psalm 2 verses 7 and 8 is a prophecy of the anointing of a new earthly king (this day I have begotten you) who will one day take over all the nations. It’s such a good companion to Psalm 82 because at the end of it, Yahweh takes over all the nations.

The Jews believed each nation was assigned a heavenly god - a patron deity - by the father of all the deities El Elyon. They couldn’t worship Yahweh while being held prisoner in Babylon, because Yahweh didn’t have authority to rule over those lands.

Side note: see the stories of Naaman who wanted to worship Yahweh back in Syria and had to take two cart loads of Israelite soil back to Syria so he could worship Yahweh in Syria presumably while standing on the Israelite soil he brought with him. Also see how when Saul exiled David to Philistia, David had to worship other gods, because Yahweh had no authority or power over those lands.

The Jews exiled in Babylon longed for the day that they would be able to worship Yahweh again, both in Babylon but in all the nations, and imagined a scenario where Yahweh defeats and judges the other gods and takes their inheritance as his own (Psalm 82) and the earthly messiah returns Judah to its glory and takes over the earthly nations.

That’s what Psalm 2 is about, and it is not a prophecy about the fictive Jesus of Nazareth.

The New Testament interpreted the Old Testament as being fulfilled by Christ. Your antagonism to the truth doesn’t change Christian theology.
