Jim Crow was absolutely necessary, as was apartheid, in their historical contexts. Is there any non-white run country that is preserving the western, enlightened social and legal culture gifted by colonialism? What is Rhodesia now? Is there any non-white run city or county or state that is not a cesspool of dysfunction and graft? What is Orleans Parish and Detroit now?
This is not racist. This is fact.
I firmly believe that the gift of Western Civilization can be enjoyed by all races who choose to embrace it. This country is replete with plenty examples of black or Hispanic or Arab people who do so. I welcome and encourage that. To the extent Jim Crow and apartheid were wrong, the failure to provide a conduit for the few who could transcend their culture and join ours was it and only it.
But we are delusional to think that as a group that any of these races or ethnic groups have the capability, much less the desire, to maintain any form of civilized order that is beyond primitive tribalism and sectarianism.
