How about using our resources to focus on legitimate and effective border security as well as actual criminals instead of law abiding people with families who are just looking for a better life.

That’s not what I said

A sanctuary city means they aren’t going to deport you for coming forward if you witnessed a crime. Why would anyone be against that? If someone you cared about was killed and someone not here legally witnessed it wouldn’t you want them to come forward without fear of being sent back to wherever they’re from?

Under Trump ICE is rounding up people wholesale, separating parents and children, and denying the detainee their legal rights.

This was actually started under Bill Clinton.

Illegal Immigrants have no rights. Like President Obama said “do not bring your children to the border”.

Was Obama wrong?

Do you believe entitlement spending has an affect on the deficit?

There’s your answer

Sorry but that isn’t what a Sanctuary City is. You are leaving out a big part of it. Why?

I guess you missed the part where I said I was on board with systemic reforms to make those programs operate more efficiently and effectively, which would result in savings? All I am against slashing just to slash.

And are you really going to feign concern about the deficit? Your President sure doesn't.

limiting cooperation with federal immigration enforcement agents in order to protect low-priority immigrants from deportation, while still turning over those who have committed serious crimes is just common sense.

Again y'all are completely oblivious to the concept of finite resources.

Name a few who advocate for open borders. Should be easy, right?

Jeffrey Miron - USA Today Forget the wall already, it's time for the U.S. to have open borders

Jim Acosta - CNN The New Colossus

okay i think we're up to 3 total, though I'm not really sure Jeff Miron or whoever can be considered prominent and Acosta didn't advocate open borders in your link but it's dubious enough that i'll give it to you.

You're wasting your time

Someone linked the deputy chair of the DNC supporting open borders and it wasn't good enough for the OP.

So, if they make it here illegally and get to a sanctuary city, they should be able to stay as long as they don't commit felonies, right?

You're for open borders.

but he won't because he doesn't care as he won't be around to see the consequences. Donald Trump isn't about anybody but Donald Trump.

Sadly he won’t. Neither did Obama but some POTUS eventually will.

This was one of the big failings of the Obama presidency. He talked about it a ton during his 2008 campaign. I gave him a bit of a pass due to the financial crisis but he never came back around to it in his 2nd term.
