No, you’re being sanctimonious. Emotionally driven is building a wall because it feels good to look at even though it doesn’t really address the root problem which is people coming over here legally then overstaying their visas.

Has nothing to do with the law.

No government has the time or the rescources to enforce all laws equally all of the time. What a responsible government does is analyze the situation and uses the rescources they do have to the end that will result in the highest net benefit to society. In this situation, it’s using the rescources we do have on common sense controls and preventions as well as targeting individuals who are coming here to commit crimes rather than families who are doing jobs Americans don’t want and aren’t hurting anyone.

Emotionally driven is using ICE to sweep neighborhoods and schools so certain parts of the GOP base can go to bed feeling good the brown people are being punished.

This is such crap. Almost every wall proponent is also in favor of cracking down on visa overstays, nationwide e verify and stiffer penalties for illegal employers.

And who is opposing either of those efforts? Why do you want to waste billions of tax dollars on a feel good pet project that won’t address the problem you’re so worried about? Haven’t you wasted enough of it on toys for the pentagon they neither need nor want? The party of fiscal responsibility indeed

If you can’t tell the difference between an ad hominem attack on a poster in this thread vs an over the top comparison of ICE to the SS then I can’t help you.

I’m not sure who you think you’re responding to. I’m all for a blanket....let’s say 10% fedgov budget cut in exchange for strengthening borders and the other immigration controls

Why blanket? You think grandma’s Medicare should be cut at the same rate as a new line of tanks for the military industrial complex that are never going to be used? You really think that’s responsible?

Absolutely. Non discretionary spending is truly killing us and if we are to truly reform spending (like you pretend to be for) then everything must be on the table.

Any thing else and you’re just a fake playing lip service

Well at least you’re owning it. I think that’s a profoundly irresponsible position but you’re entitled to it.

Not saying Medicare/Medicaid/Social Security can’t be reformed to work in a more effective and efficient manner which would also save money, I’m all for that, but conservatives don’t seem to want to do that they just want to slash for the sake of slashing.

They all do because at one time I get were for border walls and now they fight it.

Your liberal leaders know it means more illegal votes to have more illegals in the country. They don’t have to use as many dead people votes.

But unbridled deficit spending is “responsible”?

Cut by 10% and provide an opt out for those moving forward
