My opinion and gut feeling is the same as OP. Only difference is, I don't care or hope I'm wrong. Trump needs a wake up call, these first 2 years have been packed with inconsistency. Look no further than appointing a Fed chair that was forced to raise rates cuz Trump shite the bed so royally with gas, diesel, and inflation. Hopefully he's smart enough to see losing the House as a mandate to reverse course over his last 2 years and put domestic issues first and gtho of Iran. All the great work at the Border has been given back with his esoteric Iran agenda over the last 8 months.

Come on, OP. Tell us how bad the right is going to get crushed. Give us some numbers.

We definitely lose the house. Come close to losing the senate, which a year ago I would have said no way
Hell of Paxton really does fall in Texas it will tell us all we need to know

Look I’m no political science major or pollster, but I work in an industry that deals with people everyday. In a swing state no less. And all I can say is sentiment is bad
Like I said in my original post. I hope I wrong

The problem is people really don’t pay attention to facts and the media feeds them crap.
I don’t like it….just being realistic

Will lose the purse strings and will be lucky to retain the Senate. Then anything that is a positive in '27 and '28 will give the Dems the ability to say it happened on their watch as a checks n balances from the House. Amazes me how people are so good at gauging momentum in a football game but can't read the tea leaves in Politics, especially when the incumbents have unforced errors on every serve over the last 6 months.

I realize that young people are hurting, especially young white men, every other group has gotten special attention but them over the decades. Because of DEI, immigration, offshoring of jobs they got the short end and they view boomers as having done it to them. Trump is addressing some but not all of their complaints and I think it will help in the long run, but it’s not helping now.

They want now and I get it. So they are easy prey to the siren song of communism. Republicans and Trump have not done well at messaging with them. He did for a moment in 2024 but he’s slipped with them.

You either lose it or you don't. And when dems win, what are they going to do to govern? They only have retribution in their minds. This is a dangerous climate for America.

Everyone wants to point fingers at Trump about affordability. Like it just came out thin air. The war is the primary reason for it currently. There are so many other reasons that make it an easy decision. To say you are not voting for republicans because affordability but will vote dem. That's just hilarious. Get ready. Tax cuts gone, border gone, student debt forgiven, universal Healthcare, expand snap, fraud being exposed will just expand. And the money comes from you.

I tend to agree. I know we’ve seen a huge push from the MAGA group stating that R’s don’t mind paying for higher gas and groceries (a bold strategy) if it prevented the Muslims and Communists from being elected, but I have to believe a large majority of R’s can’t see the red wave taking over their own communities. In other words, they fear inflation more than the Commies

Right or wrong, lots of folks I know have never equated what happens in New York or California to what could potentially happen in middle America.

I have empathy for Gen Z complaints and their frustration.

I don’t think they understand that the DSA prescription is much worse than the disease.

What do you think Trump is doing to help these young white men that you think are somehow victims?

Setting the foundation to re-onshore manufacturing, energy independence, focus on meritocracy, re focus higher education on meaningful degrees, to name a few.

If you want to set the foundation for infrastructure, manufacturing, re-onshoring and all that jazz, rule #1 is to have an economy where interest rates and monetary policy is loosened. Where in the 2027 crystal ball do we see this happening? All I see is a newly appointed Chair having to tighten and raise, which is like pouring water on any kind of manufacturing boom.

This goes back to a government addicted to spending.

And there are no politicians on either side willing to touch that.

That is the one subject where it doesn’t matter who you vote for.

What do you think he has done to achieve these goals?

Specifically the meritocracy angle.

“Trump can’t win Iowa caucus because he lost a general election” was said on this board

Trump won electoral, popular, house & senate.

If we lose the house or senate or both it’s because people on the right let the dems win. Don’t be that person and go vote.

What have the republicans in the house and senate done to earn your vote other than not being democrats?

All letters and no numbers. What are your predictions? You said we are going to get crushed. Give us numbers so we can figure out if we indeed got crushed.

My rep is quite good, which is all that matters. I’m also very strong on the fact if you’re here discussing politics daily you should get out and vote. Not voting or protesting just allows a referendum for a dem to have. No thanks.

Do what you promised, then don’t worry about it. Don’t, then do.

We are in don’t territory. Unforced errors.
