They saw what the left and MSM is willing to say and do with someone they deem a threat. They scared to death. Trump on the other hand, he’s running back into the fire without fear or hesitation.

And another home run.

Unfortunately, as much as people say they believe this, they don't truly understand and get it. If they did they'd be marching on DC carrying guns, knives, swords, axes, rakes, hoes, picks, shovels, and pitchforks.

That right there should be enough for anyone to pull the lever for Trump to expose it all. There is a coverup on both sides that they do not want me or you to hear. It’s larger than anyone or anything. Would you not want 200+ years of secrets released?

"The stepped up counter-disinformation effort began in 2018 following high-profile hacking incidents of U.S. firms, when Congress passed and President Donald Trump signed the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Act, forming a new wing of DHS devoted to protecting critical national infrastructure. An August 2022 report by the DHS Office of Inspector General sketches the rapidly accelerating move toward policing disinformation."

So did Trump play a part in the big tech/big government policing of so called "misinformation"?

Let us know.

That is correct. People should watch how it engulfs every elected official taking a seat at the plate of the the tax payers. Doesn’t matter the side you are on. Watch, House of Cards.

You typed all that out for little ole me. I’m truly tickled.

The FBI was covertly surveilling Trump himself when he was literally President. All conventional procedure went right out the window once Trump came into power and shook them to their core with his unconventional approach.

I am saying you shouldn't hold Trump up as your hero in this situation when he has his fingerprints all over it.

Here is your link.

All I’m seeing with “his fingerprints all over it” is his coordination with Congress to pass the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Act, which was exclusively centered around actual hacking of critical government infrastructure. Then I saw a whole bunch of words describing an ongoing discussion and brainstorming about possible future proactive strategies to address so-called disinformation. But if I’m wrong be happy to admit it. Show me any action from Trump specifically addressing disinformation. I’ve already acknowledged above his involvement with CISA, which again, is directed at hacking and not disinformation.

2018 CISA allowed Nielsen to create a special division in DHS to police disinformation. That is what I read.

This special division communicated with Big Tech quarterly, then monthly, then weekly as the 2020 election approached.

You can guarantee DHS division was communicating with the FBI.

The unintended consequences of big government.

Rand Paul would not sign 2018 CISA in a million years. Trump did.

If I read the story wrong, I apologize.

The GOP leadership has one mission.....get rid of Trump.

You think they are going to come out and say Trump was right about anything?

I wouldn't be shocked if we learned today that Republicans made requests to suppress the laptop story.

I can appreciate that, I believe it shows good faith from your side of the discussion. And I would say the same applies to me. I must admit actually, I didn’t read every bit of it, I just didn’t have it in me. But I browsed enough throughout the piece to form an opinion on it.

What we can’t avoid here is having to speculate to some extent as to Trump’s intentions and positions on these matters. My speculation narrows down to a conclusion that on this entire subject, his intentions were to strongly address the potential for foreign actors to hack things like the power grid, as one example, given the frightening prospect of seriously shutting down our ability to function as a civilized society, if there were attacks against something as indispensable and fundamental as “power”. I guess throw in banking systems, air traffic control, etc etc as other vital systems. I believe that’s what he intended to address, which is commendable. Those possibilities are pretty frightening indeed.

But as for going beyond that primary objective, I would speculate that he contributed in no overt way to any specific “disinformation screening” efforts, irrespective of his position as grand pooba.
