I mean, that's how it's done, right?
Seems the conversation is heavier on the the mental health of shooters than gun control. I think it's a good way to steer the conversation especially considering transgenders are associated with mental health problems.

I've changed my opinion about trannies after reading a summary of 'True Story' by Lucian Samosata written in the year 160 AD.
It's about his trip to the moon. There were no women there so young men had babies (by carrying them in their leg) and when they turned 25 the female/men became male to impregnate the younger female/men.
The book finishes with: 'And if you don't believe me you can travel to the moon and see for yourself.'

You are either too kind or naive.
Their intentionally deceptive wording has become the norm.
To simply brush this aside as bad grammar is giving modern journalists a pass they do not deserve.

Have you heard print journalists speak on the air? I listen to America's First News radio on my long trip to town every morning. They interview print journalists from at least 10 major sources during the week on their most recent story.
They were so bad at speaking that I started keeping count of 'ya knows' while driving. I tallied the average after 3 days.
They said 6 'ya knows' per sentence.
Their vocabularies are also extremely limited. These are people from Wapo, USA Today, WSJ, Politico, The Hill, etc.
