Did it wish I didn't. I'm a vet and I have received every Vax under the sun including Anthrax. So when I went for a VA visit they offered it (at COVIDs peak) I took it with the old military mindset but I wouldn't again.

Cleveland Clinic has 51,000 employees and didn't mandate COVID vaccination. After a couple of years the clinic studied the effect of vaccination on the employees. Unvaccinated employees had the fewest infections. The more jabs taken the more infections each employee suffered. You can find the study online. It has been published and peer reviewed.
I took three jabs and was injured, but not disabled, by my Moderna booster. I'll never take another vaccine. I can't get over the lies.

Nothing but a $$$$ opportunity for big pharm, and they sure as hell cashed in.
Individual scientists at NIH were paid over $700,000,000 from Pfizer and Moderna. From 2020 through 2022 Big Pharma paid over $1 billion for favorable peer reviews in scientific journals. The amounts spent on advertising in the MSM to influence editorial policy were astronomical.

Read Thomas Khun's nature of scientific revolution to understand this mindset in science. They look for reasons to be right as oppose to incorporating new knowledge and adjusting.
Perfect illustration of Kuhn's description of the scientism mindset.

3) the wholesale attack on other alternatives (Ivermectin).
You still can't get ivermectin if you wanted it and no doctor will touch it.
Even Merck- who won a Nobel peace prize for ivermectin is scared.

The vaccines reduced the severity of the outcomes
You have no idea it that's true. That was pure propaganda and to this day there have been exactly ZERO studies even hinting at it.

Were they a "major breakthrough in the fight against COVID-19" or not?
Not really. Worked well against the first variant. Not as well against Delta but did help some. Useless against Omnicron and every variant from January 2022 to present.

It didnt. We were told we wouldnt need to mask, distance,etc..with the vaccine and they lied.

Maybe for the initial strain.
But as the vaxx comes out, the mutation was on so we were always a step behind the virus as it’s mutating out of the coverage the jab was supposed to provide
The media never talked about this fact.
And smart people were called anti vaxx when I pointed this out.
The response was so messed up.

The vaccines reduced the severity of the outcomes. In that sense they were a success.
‘Vaccines’ against viral infection prevent infection. As these shots never prevented infection, calling them vaccines is simply inaccurate.
I don’t know anyone who got those shots and subsequently didn’t get infected.

Were they a "major breakthrough in the fight against COVID-19"
Just as blood typing, discovery of penicillin, etc. was a major breakthrough, yet were far from end-all be-alls.
Make no mistake though, the CV19 jab "science" and ultimate efficacy was misreported, propagandized, and used to manipulate a population. Further as CV19 evolved, iterations of the vax were less effective as CV19 concomitantly evolved to less virulent strains, shifting risk-benefit. So categorizing the tech in a limited sense against CV19 as a "major breakthrough" would turn into a definitional precept with a "yes and no" answer depending on emphasis.
IMO the related abuse of science and inherent duplicity promoting the jab were horrible.
But mRNA technology is a game changer with ramifications far beyond vaccinations.

Should have been left up to the individual.
When you have jobs mandating it and people speaking as experts or in certainties, which neither were true, while looking down on those who raised legitimate questions, I have issues.
I personally will never give a dollar back to LSU because of President Tate’s handling of this and his letters to the LSU community where he stated:
“As an epidemiologist, I know that vaccination is the way out of this pandemic, and I’m grateful to everyone who has already been vaccinated for helping us move in that direction.”
They then forced staff to take the shot or lose their jobs, and rescinded that requirement the week after the deadline to get shot number one of the two shot protocol at a time when the Johnson and Johnson shot (1 shot) was having real side effects and issues raised by everyone.
There are certain people in positions of power who abused those positions and lied to or misled the people they serve. Whether it was politicians, doctors, etc. there is a long list of people and institutions I will never trust or assist ever again.
This also led to an erosion of trust in general with the medical profession which might have even bigger consequences if we ever face a real issue in the future which could rightfully be solved, which I think might be an even bigger loss in all of this.

It provided an opportunity to field test a new technology that had been in research and development for years but was never stable enough (read safe enough) to push to human testing.

quote:Vax availability was the effort that reopened the economy for Biden.
But to even begin to understand the big pharma and deep state duplicity at play, you need only recognize that the vax was ready in Oct 2020. Yet its deployment was delayed until after the election, so as not to "politicize it."

I still don’t understand why a completely novel mRNA platform was approved before the tried and true adenovirus vector.
