We were definitely way less confident than we are this time and I recall more opposition - and certainly more thoughtful opposition. More never Trumpers as well.

November 3rd about 10:00pm ITS HAPPENING ISNT IT.. HO LEE frick

I’ve never in my life been so awake and amped at 2 am without the aid of an alcoholic substance. I was pregnant and I could have run a full marathon with the adrenaline I felt watching Trump walk out to give his acceptance speech. This is a good trip down memory lane. Praying we get to do the same Tuesday.

Have to admit, I never saw a way for him to win PA, MI and WI. Personally I was pretty resigned to the fact that Hillary was going to be the next president. Election night was something else with all the melts. Hoping we get another chance to see it.

Many of us were highly confident he'd win. We saw and were dialed into what Michael Moore and Pat Caddell kept warning the overconfident MSM about.

Night of the election 2016 felt similar to LSU winning the natty, undefeated, with a Hiesman winner as our QB. Very surreal but those are the feelings that make this life so great.

Even thought you're a piccolo I always knew you were smart.

Dude that’s bullshite. I have screenshots of me winning $40k on election night on Predict on my Mac at home.

Stop slandering people like me who have been MAGA AF forever.

I consider you a friend and an ally - what you said about me in this thread really cuts deep. Not lying.

Like most, have spent most of my time on the poli board in the buildup to the election. There is a large amount of hype this election for Trump pulling it off, and I’m curious if this was the same sentiment in 2016.

It was the same. THere were people, like me, who kept saying, "I don't see how Clinton wins. Just look at Trump's rallies." Then the more adept posters were mentioning Clinton's complete lack of visiting swing states. It made no sense as to why Clinton would win.

The big difference this year, is the outright fraud being attempted. I've been pretty damn confident Trump wins no matter what. But, the more i see these states bend and break election rules, and to have the USSC abandon their duties for "expediency", the more doubt i begin to have. Any honest election, Trump gets 400 electoral votes or more. This election, i don't know. I'd like to think the enthusiasm is even too great for the attempted fraud the Democrats are committing. But who knows? Barrett needs to sit her arse down in her chair, and DO HER JOB. You aren't there as window dressing, you are there to deliberate. I don't give a damn if you just got there, and it would take too long for you to look over the documents to make a decision. You take the time to do your fricking job!

I think most expected Hillary would win.

That Vince McMahon gif was pretty much the poli board that night.

It was fricking fun. Election night was awesome. Next day was more awesome. There was so much MSM material to laugh at the next day it really was incredible.

It was amazing. Especially when Podesta told people to go home and that it wasn’t over, then HRC concedes within 30 minutes. Cowards.

The Meme War was much more intense in 2016, and Les Deplorables were reveling in the spoils of victory in the wee hours of the morning on election night.

We debated the polls a lot. CptBengal and others constantly calling progs filth. Clinton being a corrupt POS was always huge. Lots of Don energy but still others thought he wouldn't win.

I was confident he would win from all the leaks about Hillary’s corruption. I gave a smug look and a laugh to my boss at the time who was voting Hillary about how we’d see tomorrow morning who’s right.

I was just about to post that gif

Yes, there is a reason that gif is so famous around here. It sums up the evolution of election night so perfectly.

That side-eye glance in the second Vince McMahon shot gets me every time. Such a perfect embodiment of what we were all thinking
