Gentrification is the only reason the crime has dropped in NOLA and gentrification is the only thing that can save NOLA going forward. The locals don't have it in them to move that city forward.

I don’t know what’s going to happen to the city, but I’ve been an advocate for blowing up the Causeway and the Twin Spans since 2004.
Let the gulf have it back.

Surprised they haven't tried another gun grab in The Chocolate City.

You’re way behind. NOLA is full of NPCs. The hive mind is the reason JBE won the state and why every mayor of NOLA from here on out will be a Latoya the Destroya hybrid.

Not sure why y’all care. It’s a shite hole, remember? New Orleans was here before the United States. It’ll be here after. Worry about your own town. We’ll be fine.

NOLA survived Hurricane Katrina

Did it though?

People keep saying this but it really isn’t true. Sure there was a bit of a boost after all the federal money came in, but NOLA was sHittier than ever even before the Covid outbreak.

Potholes everywhere that don’t get fixed, massive floods after regular summer afternoon thunderstorms, the Hardrock incident, crime, corruption etc.

NOLA was once and should have always been one of the Crown Jewels of the US, but it’s far too gone and will never remotely recover.

Best case for the city is that one day it might not be quite as sHitty as it is now. But even that’s doubtful.

No - it was the hippest city in the country with massive out of state transplants and $$ moving in. Cool place to be. And murders were down.

No, I'm not saying that. What I am saying is that Blacks have proven they can't govern NOLA. For the record, I am Black. But, I gotta call a spade a spade. We failed ourselves and NOLA. It's time for non-Blacks to run the city government in NOLA and turn the city around.

But the blacks in the city won’t vote non-black or will only vote for a non-black like Mitch Landrieu.

How did that work out?

This stupid, backwards, head in the sand attitude is exactly why the city is in the shape it’s in.

I’d say by the time folks like you pull your head out of your collective asses it will be too late.

But it’s already too late and those like you never learn

The Landrieus are passe blanc. With that said, NOLA needs some aggressive Republicans to run for office in NOLA. I mean Republicans who will talk straight up to Black folks like Trump and they will start to peel away and start getting Black male votes...especially educated Black men and those who are entrepreneurs. A Republican will likely never get the majority of Black votes anywhere but they can get enough votes especially in places with large numbers of Blacks. I felt this was Rispone's bad move. Rispone didn't go after the Black vote when I believe he could've gotten enough Black votes to win if he'd campaigned to Blacks.
