I thought it sounded a bit beefier than 556, 7.62X39 was my guess. knock down/arm removal power. Those darn Soviets...

Looked like a angled blow on the guys dome by the damage shown in the video. Didn't penetrate inside the skull, but more of a glancing blow. Still killed him.

Dudes arm was on the muzzle and most of that damage is from the up close blast. Depending on the type of round, the 5.56 is very deadly because of it's extremely high rate of speed. If the bullet has an expanding tip, then it has tremendous energy on impact at close range.

Paramedic " still had an arm, and Skateboard stumbled around holding his guts in. That was 5.56.

^^^ Exactly this ^^^

Having grown up in a hunting family, I've seen what carnage comes from a lot of different calibers to both soft tissue and bone.

The arm and head were definitely 556. If 762, the cavitation alone would have made skaterboi's entrails his "extrails" and the recently converted left handed medic would have been an instant amputee. The guy who got domed, there wouldn't have been any rush to put pressure on the wound to stop bleeding because the top half of his head would be spread out in a 5 yard radius, fine pink and gray mist.

Could be. I may or may not have an Anderson that's an entry level AR that looks just like that.

Thanks for the confirmation. This made me research the difference between a .223 (which I wrongly thought this was) and a 5.56.

Entry wound in the dome is very small from 5.56. Speaking from experience.

That’s typically true for rifle rounds on any part of the body if there’s no intervening targets to interfere and they aren’t contact or near contact. .22 caliber entrances can be particularly hard to find, especially if you have a lot of wounds in a particular area.
