For my industry , being vaccinated means you can get more work done (in a roundabout way) . So, when I hear “I’m not getting the vaccine” , this helps me out when it comes to talent calibration time and promotion opportunities with the other company leaders.

So you do not prefer independent thinkers? Nice.

I use to get in line and get mass shots for going to 3rd world countries, vaccines/shots don’t bother/scare me. A vaccine that’s not approved, untested, for a virus that has a less than 1% mortality rate, that doesn’t release you from the restrictions of the virus, etc just doesn’t add up.

I'm just glad I'm not being forced yet. We get paid days off for getting it and an extra if we have symptoms because of it..but I'm good.

I don't get any lip or blow back. They ask me why, i tell them that i'm worried about the shite that can come from this shot later in life, not now. None of the early side effects worry me, the ones down the road are my worries.

They usually say i get it, no troubles.

My son and DIL had covid early on. They are in their mid 30's and they got through it okay, but it kicked their butts like a nasty flu.

Over 200 million in the US have had at least one shot. My second shot gave me a fever 24 hours after taking it. One Tylenol and a nice hour and a half nap, was all of the reaction I got. Despite my age, I wasn't worried that it would kill me, but I don't want to suffer a nasty flu.

"I don't really feel like getting it. I'll talk to my doc during my checkup and get her opinion."

"WHY DON'T YOU WANT TO GET IT???"

"Because I already had covid and it was nothing."

My whole life, I’ve never discussed vaccines, except with the doc when getting my kids checkups. Why do people discuss it now? Oh, because it’s been so politicized.

Why would you choose to put yourself through having covid, when you can avoid it? It's your body and so you have the right to choose.

other methods that have been proven to work for coronavirus

The only thing that has been substantially associated with reduced incidence of covid-19 has been the vaccine. There have been some treatments that have been associated with decreased mortality, but those are only associated with cases requiring hospitalization. They have not really shown any significant benefit in cases not severe enough to warrant hospitalization. Even with the treatment regimen(s) that have been associated with a reduced mortality, the best indicator of the severity of the case is the viral load of the patient. Viral load is based on the amount of virus the person was exposed to at infection and the time that the virus has to replicate and increase the viral load. The thing that has been shown to consistently and significantly reduce the viral load for covid-19 is the vaccine.

The positive outcomes that have been associated with other treatment(s) have all come after a person has been infected and become symptomatic. If you consider a method that only shows modest results after someone has gotten sick to be proven against covid-19 then...

Yeah this is the point I don’t get to those who regard not getting a vaccine as a badge of pride as opposed to a personal choice.

Friend of mine had lab confirmed COVID. Very mild symptoms.

Still hasn’t regained sense of smell 6 months later. Given shite like that is due to the virus literally killing of parts of your brain, I don’t why it’s considered silly to want to protect yourself.
