Not all of them are so far fetched. Multiple ones about Twitter have become very true

I think that's right, but only in the neutral and simple sense of "a theory about a conspiracy". The modern usage implies a theory that's epistemically questionable and I don't think that really developed until after Karl Popper and Richard Hofstadter wrote some things that made it trendy to make conspiracy theorizing more dubious.

This has been proven to be false. The term originated around the 1800s.

Does not believing the approved narrative of the creation of the term “conspiracy theory” qualify as another conspiracy theory?

Eh...there are a lot of stupid CTs about covid, but the Covid Era shits all over this. Plenty of "experts" intentionally spread disinformation and were used as experts to thwart truthtellers from spreading the truth

*ETA: we're talking about basic concepts, too, like the low mortality rate and superiority of natural infection

No, that’s a filthy conspiracy theory itself and apparently you didn’t get enough spankings when you were little.

I don’t even know what that means.

Probably the fact that so many "conspiracy theories" keep coming true.

Are they really “theories” when 9/10 come true and the one that isn’t is the one the opposition harps on?

Well, let's see.

The intelligence community, various politicians, and mainstream media said for years that the orange man colluded with Russians to win the 2016 election. At least one predicate for the investigation was completely false (Steele Dossier) and the other may have been (hack of DNC server -- this is the subject of a fight on the poliboard). We also recently learned that the DOJ spied on Congressman Devin Nunes and former Intelligence Committee senior counsel Kash Patel because they suspected early on that Russiagate was garbage and tried to investigate its origins in part by issuing subpoenas.

That same crew said Putin put bounties on American soldiers in Afghanistan. Complete lie.

50 former CIA officers signed a letter that the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinfo and we now know the FBI sat on it for a year, was spying on Rudy Giuliani, and ran to social media and MSM to discredit the story when it hit the press.

The FBI concocted and ran the Whitmer kidnapping plot.

At least a handful of J6 provocateurs are running loose (probably feds) while grannies who walked into the Capitol are being raided.

So, forgive me if I don't believe what the MSM and big tech shove down our throats over something like COVID (you really think it didn't come from the Wuhan lab?) or Ukraine (which started with a coup backed by neocons in 2014). Washington Post just admitted there is "no conclusive evidence" that Russia blew up the Nord Stream pipelines after all of the TV talking head intel folks said it had to be Russia. That is a cute way of saying the west likely committed one of the largest acts of economic terrorism in history.

There is no check on corporate media anymore because there is no Seymour Hersh to expose power centers. Those companies are arms of the intel agencies now and maybe a handful of independent media guys are capable of fighting the machine. It's hard not to be a conspiracy theorist these days.
