Jesus, just read up on the story. This happened on 3/5 and the cops, after cell phone video was posted, only got around to arresting the guy on 3/14. Meanwhile his social media has a ton of suicidal posts and how depressed he is. But the cops let this guy who sits on his porch with a shotgun slide for over a week.

Got lucky on this one.

Or the cop could have said, "Ma'am, you called us. We're out here to help you. I will let you go, but I need to get to the bottom of this first" instead of going on a power trip and threatening to arrest her. Or one of the multiple cops on scene could have escorted her to her house that was only a couple houses down to get a charger.

He could have handled it in several ways better than he did. Shouldn't cops be trained in handling frantic, worried people without turning into an a-hole?

No, they really aren't. The majority of cops have never used their weapon. The majority of days they have zero physical altercations.

It's a pretty good guess that an unarmed girl in the middle of the day that called the cops to report a gun being pointed at her is not going to just attack the multiple cops there out of the blue. The mentality that cops have where they see everyone as a potential threat is part of the problem, especially when that person was the victim that called them. There is absolutely no reason for this girl to be arrested. She made no threatening moves whatsoever. The cop was more than ready to arrest her for just being upset after having her life threatened and being unable to contact her child. He is the one that escalated the situation.

If he couldn't handle that simple situation like a professional, then he has no business being a cop.

When she went "The Real" he should have tasered her arse.

Not sure if serious, but if so, this is wrong. I am not a black woman, but if ole boy would have brought out a shotgun on me, I would have "made it an issue" too. SWAT would have eventually responded to the scene.
