re: What is your most unpopular political opinion? And why.

Not at all; I didn't say anything about expressing emotions.
I was very specific about women having full ability to use reason and for men to be emotional, you all (as a group, of course there are exceptions to every rule) just do not bow to reason as your prime authority.
That doesn't mean that you can't agree with a man on any given topic or that men and women will disagree. The fact that you and I align politically is not self-contradictory at all.
It just means that men and women recognize different authorities to whom we appeal. One reason, the other emotion. I agree, two sides of the same coin. Equal but different, as opposed to being equal but the same.

There is so much dumb in this I'm not sure where to start.
1. No one made anyone go to college.
2. No one made anyone take out a loan to go to college. No, no one shoved anything down anyone's throat or held a gun to anyone's head.
3. People who want to make colleges financially responsible for loans that their customers take out are idiots. First of all, the college dropout rate is 40%. And it's actually higher for the degrees that are better investments because those degrees are more difficult. So how in the hell can a college be responsible for someone dropping out of college? And how can a college be responsible for what someone does AFTER they graduate from college? Having a degree is just one circumstance. It doesn't dictate what someone's life is going to be like. There are umpty-nine other life choices that someone makes that can impact their ability to pay off loans that the college has no control over whatsoever.
And if you don't like the rates, don't take the loan.
If people in your opinion are too dumb to be responsible about college loans, just stop issuing them...period, end of story, problem solved.
And if they're not, then they need to be responsible for their choices, since they are the only ones who can be.
But it's asinine to try to make colleges liable for loans that their customers take out.
Here we have it everyone: The exact opinion I'm talking about. Completely moronic, loser mentality. Dude can't even admit how the problem came to be.

My most unpopular opinion is that gerrymandering is fine and one of the most American political actions around.
Everyone always hates this opinion but since the 10th amendment has been neutered I’m pro-gerrymandering. Not only has it existed since the beginning of this country but it highlights state power. If you want to control state districts win state elections.

1(a) The 19th Amendment was a terrible fricking decision.
1(b) People receiving government benefits they have not paid for (Medicaid, SNAP, Section 8) should be barred from voting in federal elections.
1(c) People that do not own property should not be allowed to vote in property tax elections.
Because people are retarded and think the United States is a democracy and these are, by definition, anti-democratic.

Unpopular
We should have never left the gold standard.
Why
Lack of the gold standard made the ruinous debt a possibility.

Our borders should have been locked tight before noon on September 11, 2001
And barely be open now

Term limits are a stupid idea that will not solve anything in Washington. Most of the decisions made in Washington occur at the bureaucratic level, not the congressional level and these bureaucrats are either appointed or hired. They are not elected and if they are hired they are almost impossible to get rid of thanks to federal employee unions. Also there are so many positions of influence in Washington D.C. that even if you put term limits in for them people would just bounce around from one position to a different one ala Lefty Rosenthal at the Stardust when he was put into the Las Vegas black book. No matter what position they are in they still have all of their political connections to use.
(Didn't realize this was an older thread that I had already posted in. I'll still leave this here. It makes the same point I made earlier just phrased in a bit of a different way.)

Unpopular here: all humans have an obligation to help their fellow humans
National/federal politicians are so far removed from regular Americans that they aren’t deserving of any of our attention.
Unpopular in real life: non-violent protests are always a good thing.

y’all love to blame women for the actions of idiotic men.
Male leaders screw up the country
Poli board: it’s the womenz fault! Some of them voted for the stupid man who scsrewed everything up!

A couple of more.
There is no pro-abortion argument that is logically and morally consistant. There is also no anti-abortion argument that is logically and morally consistant. I've stood on both sides of the argument and I have felt like I have been on the wrong side no matter which side I take.
Also until further notice, when the national anthem is played everyone should sit down when it comes time for that land of the free lyric. We live in a land of censorship, propaganda, and authoratarianism. There is nothing "free" about it. You can still stand for the rest of the anthem but that line is tripe today.

Repeal the 17th Amendment .
Why?
The founders had it right the first time. No need to mess with something that isn’t broken.
The people get to vote for their representatives, while the states, should be able to vote for its own representation in Washington.
As it stands now, the states have no official representation.
Probably not the most edgy of opinions, but I think most people don’t understand the significance.

People are afraid of a new Constitution, because they don't know what we would get. But any Constitution would have to be ratified by the States. While I have some radical changes I would like to see, I expect there would be little change to our governmental structure. But it would be nice to clarify certain issues so we could stop worrying about what our Founding Father's were thinking 240 years ago.
If you think election fraud is bad now just wait until voting for a new constitution drafted primarily by graduates of Ivy League law schools is on the table.
Given what the education system has mass produced for the last few decades it would scare me shitless to see a proposal for a new constitution get mainstream approval.

You’ve got it backwards you satan loving communist.
It’s the conservatives who feel that way and it’s not the governments role.
You really came onto a Louisiana message board with this nonsense full of people that help each other out all the fricking time?
Lsu is known for a good time because we invite and welcome people to our tailgate to enjoy in our blessings.
