I believe it’s main purpose is to piss off the the name changing morons that are predominantly liberals and history re-interpretators.
Notice AP getting their panties in a bunch!
AKA good clean fun that cost nothing.

I’m sure there is more to it than meets the surface. Can’t we now have our attack subs sink the Chinese fishing fleet raping the gulf?

There was no written Athabaskan language until westerners came along. How is it possible to know it was called Denali for centuries?

And again, as far as China is concerned, it's still called the Gulf of Mexico. Or however that's pronounced in mandarin.

What was America called before it was called America?
We won. When you win, you get to name it whatever the hell you want.

And?
Allowing 20+ million illegals in and LITERALLY frickING BUSSING AND FLYING THEM INTO MAJOR CITIES ACROSS THE U.S. in swing states so that Democrats could buy votes by giving them free handouts was the definition of maturity?
The Democrat Senate and Congress unanimously voting AGAINST deporting violent illegals that are detained for committing a crime in America out of spite for the President is the definition of maturity?
Define maturity for us, because we can go on this all day pointing out how truly mature the democrats have been.
Go ahead, tell us what true maturity is supposed to be in this country from our political leadership that is supposed to have America's best interest at heart.
And while we're at it and to the spirit of the thread, explain to everyone how renaming the Gulf of Mexico (sounds cheap and shitty) to Gulf of America (has an amazing ring to it, instantly much nicer and more valuable) is not in America's best interest.

The Gulf of America was called something else before Europeans got here as well
Istanbul was Constantinople

Was it or was it not renamed by Obama?
At the request of the state of Alaska which pushed for it since the 1970s (and which kept getting blocked by a congressman from Ohio)

Hey, at least it wasn’t signed with an autopen.
Obviously, those of us on tigerdroppings don’t know all the reasons he changed the name. But I’m sure one was to recapture some American pride. You think you would’ve been this upset when the name changed from “The Gulf of Florida”?

there was a fun rumor that it was done to negate Biden era restrictions on GOM drilling.

Things change.
And before it was Constantinople, it was Byzantium.
New York use to be New Amsterdam
Beijing use to be Peking
St Petersburg was renamed Petrograd, then Leningrad, and now is back to St. Petersburg
Volgograd use to be Stalingrad. And before it was Stalingrad it was Tsaritsyn.
Turkey used to be Anatolia
France use to be Gaul
Taiwan use to be Formosa
Thailand use to be Siam
Iran use to be Persia
Iraq use to be Mesopotamia
Israel use to be Judea
Zimbabwe use to be Rhodesia
I could go on and on. In fact, there are few if any places on the planet that haven’t changed names at least a few times.

Archaeological evidence suggests that Paleo-Arctic and Paleo-Indian groups may have lived in the region more than 10,000 years ago, possibly descending from the first humans who crossed the Bering Land Bridge from Siberia. These early hunter-gatherers likely followed large Ice Age mammals like mammoths and bison.
While there are no specific names for pre-Athabaskan cultures in the Denali region, the broader Arctic and subarctic areas were home to various early indigenous groups who left behind tools, artifacts, and evidence of seasonal camps. Some of these cultures include:
Nenana Complex (circa 11,000–8,000 BCE) – One of the earliest known human occupations in Alaska, characterized by stone tools found in sites like the Dry Creek Archaeological Site.
Denali Complex (circa 10,700–7,000 BCE) – A later group known for microblade technology, which suggests they were skilled hunters.
These prehistoric cultures eventually gave rise to the Athabaskan-speaking peoples, including the Koyukon Athabaskans, who thrived in the Denali region for millennia.

Welll it sits between NORTH and SOUTH America, adjacent to Mexico. Makes more sense to call it the Gulf of America. Some moron just named it wrong to begin with....
