Of course.

Why let a very active thread run its course?

But that DOES undercut my concession that this forum may not be an echo chamber, because the "powers that be" do not stifle the "opposition." Anchoring an active thread is just one VERY small step short of deleting it.

The best part is the way that "new" flag stops appearing beside the thread on the main board, as it starts falling. Even those who WANT to continue the discussion must actively LOOK for it.

See, this is your problem. If you knew anything at all, you'd know I'm not one to rely on the backup of the masses around here for any opinions or assertions that I offer.

Then maybe you should refrain from making idiotic and uninformed assumptions about my motivations.

If you admit to knowing nothing about his post history, why accuse him of playing to the masses?

I did not contradict myself. Like I said you post on here because you know you’re gonna hear what you want.

And this place is absolutely an echo chamber.

The debate isn’t whether the same idea is repeated and echoed back

The only argument is whether an echo chamber needs to be 100% free of opposing opinion or if the 3 liberal posters here save this place.

Ok Sammy, I’ve got a post tension slab on a house that’s a motherfricker that I have to finish designing and drawing up to get out for Friday.

Go do what you do. Nice talking to you.

I don't think it is any particular number. More just having most responses be in agreement even thought the national opinion is very different in makeup.

I don't think it has anything to do with suppression/banning of other opinion.

For instance, I'd say 95% or more of Americans support the right of women to vote.

Yet there was a post on this board saying women voting was a huge mistake and the majority of this board agreed with them. This leads the OP to believe they are validated in their beliefs and their absurd opinion have now been legitimized. Even if 40% of responses were against the viewpoint(which it was not), they still feel that the majority of their peers now agree with them and they feel validated.

Some people are 100% fed up with the left and have no room in their hearts for dialog. They have been isolated, made fun of in the media, pitched as conspiracy theorists or insurrectionists, racists etc etc etc on and on it goes. They've been labeled this in medias, in colleges and universities, online etc. I FULLY understand their rage and zero compromise mentality at this point.

This wasn't always the case. But the last 20 years the left's hate rhetoric and isolationism has been far too effective and enraging.

This is also correct. I have developed a healthy hatred for leftists since 2014 or so when they really ramped up the anti-white rhetoric. If you vote democrat, you are my enemy and I despise you.

Posts here on that topic are puzzling. I always wonder whether they actually feel that way, or if they just think they are being "edgy" where the wife cannot see them.

Neither. What people are saying is that women should have the right to vote but at the same time, making important decisions based on emotions instead of logic is beyond stupid and guarantees failure. Women vote like this.

Translation. We are all too stupid for Hank. Its not Hank's opinions that are shite, its our inability to comprehend them that's the issue.
I hope everyone, one day, finds someone that love them as much as Hank loves Hank.

not the one that I remember. It literally said the founding fathers were right to not let women vote.

It seems that he just assumes that anyone who disagrees with him is "one of them." It's much simpler to categorize your opponents into one group, than it is to accept there may be nuance to their positions or that most folks outside of the extreme fringes are not consistently engaging in identity politics.

Of course it is. And you're evidence the OP is off base.
