You mean like the border?

What if you got a nickel every time you posted about yang?

If what you are saying is true then you should be staunchly for the wall or similar measures to curb border crossings. If automation is around the corner, we don’t need a bunch of uneducated, unskilled dependents right??
This is a fair point. Easy solution is to make the freedom dividend a citizen only plan.

You know exactly what we'll do. We give them enough money for food, shelter, cable tv, cell phone, beer, and pot and hope they stay out of trouble.

There is literally no danger in this happening.

McKinsey predicts that by 2030, jobs like dishwashers, equipment operators, food-preparation workers, general mechanics and truck drivers in America will witness a 31% decrease in employment due to automation.
Someone has to design, test, produce, and maintain these contraptions. Our colleges (and the "take the easy road" applicants themselves) are failing in producing graduates capable of filling the need.
This leads us to be dependent on other countries for these needs. Hopeful, Trump's immigration reforms will be adopted, and bring more of these needs in-house.

AMEN! Even the patties for the hamburger flippers will end coming to the store in a form ready for being fed into the flippers. (Or more likely, the meat comes in bulk form, and another contraption forms it into patties.) Instead of cooks, there will be flipper feeders - but there will be far fewer people needed. It's costs too much less than manual operations for it not to happen.
AUTOMATION IS ALL ABOUT MONEY. Doing the same task cheaper means the owner can sell the same for product for less than the non-automated competition. Then, say by-by to the competition.
Have an up-vote.

quote:Explain how these people got retrained from jobless in the 1st place as there are no house training, I mean retraining, for them originally.
That’s a lot of people put on the streets should there be no retraining programs made available.
Keep your hands off other peoples stuff, including money, ya damned thief. If you wanna redistribute the wealth feel free to give everything YOU have. I and many others will keep our own though.

What happens when a fraction of those drivers are dislodged by an autonomous driving robot overlord? What happens when there is no skills replacement program?
quote:Great, let's expand govt. so more taxation is required. Except, how does Yang balance that unless taxation is 100% then the everyone works for the govt. payroll cannot balance with the income. And that still leaves all other govt. spending a deficit.
He wants to revive the Office of Technology Assessment (OTA), an organization first commissioned by President Nixon but sunset in 1995
Woohoo! A Yang/AOC ticket would be the most impressive IQ ever to lead the nation, for the year or so before collapsing the nation and throwing the world into chaos and war. Yang ain't much smarterer than AOC.

Automation is great for the GDP. However, it’s driving us off a cliff in terms of American citizen employment.
