The political part is the left’s belief that words can be violence and therefore Will Smith was justified in his response because Chris rock hurt his feelings.

Also - everything in entertainment is political - their rules, not our’s.

Our culture defines our values and mores, those are eventually translated into legislation or allows prosecutors do things like not arresting people who steal from Walgreens. I'm not saying it will impact a given candidate, but I assure you there will be a divide between conservatives and liberals.

None of that has anything to do with Will Smith slapping Chris Rock. You haven't shown that this event is political. Did either of these men steal from Walgreen's? Are they legislators? Are they running for office? A man took offense to another man saying some dumb shite about his wife. He lost his cool and slapped the shite out of the dude. That's not a political action in any way.

That’s not the world in which we live.

Should be, but the reality is more Harvey Weinstein & corrupt Joe Biden.

And the killing of George Floyed was just an accidental killing of a suspect.

Why is this on the Poli board?

Because progressives think speech you don't like is violence, and violence can be met with violence.

Look at all progressive mouthpieces, they all support Will Smith because they want to retain the power to punch you when you say things they don't like.

This is highly political... No wonder conservatives are getting their asses kicked in American culture. They don't even recognize the fight that's happening.

We know for a fact that it wasn’t racial . Nor was it anything remotely connected to “systemic racism“ which does not exist.

Just to dirtbags crossing paths at the wrong time

My point is this - whatever you think of what happened there, it was and still is political. Just look at all the funerals he had, and the powerful political people who attended them.

Nothing.

I have zero fricks to give about one self absorbed rich dude bitch slapping another self absorbed rich dude.

I’ve seen worse bar fights in college.

This whole thing is absurd. Nobody is dead. Everyone has their panties in a snit for no reason.

Chris Rock moved on. The rest of us should too.

Except for the memes. The memes should live forever.

Let’s Go Brandon.

I think Chris Rock should do a Dave Chapelle style netflix special, roasting Will Smith and his whore wife about everything from the way they are raising queer kids, to being a cuckold, to his wife's cueball head. That's what Smith's ridiculous reaction to a little offhand joke warrants. And then the next time Smith gets close enough to reach, Rock should kick him in the balls (if they aren't in his whore wife's purse) like Jean Claude Van Damme.

He and his wife should be barred from attending the Oscars next year, but it won’t happen. He being there next year will be the only reason new viewers would tune in.

How many fricks do you have to give when a tranny slaps you for misgendering them?

First off the main problem is this soft arse society today thinks an open handed slap is violence.

I suspect it's a result of the helicopter parents that never let their kids grow up and get into school yard fights like they needed to. Then those kids grew up having never given or gotten a bloody nose or busted lip now they classify any physical confrontation as as crime and equate it to a violent act.

I think what it is, is most people have never been in a fight but they do run their mouths on the internet a lot and seeing someone slap someone else for talking shite scares the hell out of them because it reminds them that it can happen to them too if they forget one day that they are not behind a keyboard decide to say what's on their mind to someone who may or may not like what they have to say.

ETA: One more thing to add, If a man is out with his wife and someone verbally, publicly disrespects and/or embarrassed his wife in front of him and he just stands there and does nothing, or just walks away, I guarantee you this, she may never say it but she will no longer respect that man or feel safe with him and she shouldn't.
A man would rather take an arse whipping standing up for the right thing than be safe and become a coward in his wifes eyes.

But I'm from a much different generation.

That people don't give a sh!t.

IMO it was staged.
Ratings for the Oscars have been going down for years.
Men banging his wife for everyone to know but hair jokes are the breaking point? give me a break.
He had plenty of time to think before hitting the host.
If he had punched him he is arrested, Oscars may not go on and his career is affected but funny he was so mad to get up in front of a audience of his peers and just slap him. How convenient.
And the ad is now in place for next year..."tune in to the 2023 Oscars and see what happens this year!"

Will Smith exposed himself as a giant hypocritical douche for laughing at the joke in question before seeing his wife's reaction.

Chris Rock now also has material for the foreseeable future.
