Have you ever looked at a pie chart of the federal budget?

Foreign aid is like 1.2% of the budget.

About 12% of the federal budget is welfare. So even if 50% of it went to fraud (which it doesn't, but if it did), you're talking about 6%.

The DOD accounts for about 13.5% of the budget, which is a not insignificant chunk. If you're going to invoke the total "MIC," (which, these days, automatically labels you a conspiracy crank), you're talking about Veterans Affairs, the DOE, and the State Department, which I would say you'd be a fool to think we should eliminate. So yeah, when you add all that together you get around 23% of the budget.

But by comparison, SS and Medicare represent 37% of the federal budget. Add in Medicaid and you're up to almost half of the budget.

THAT'S the problem with the deficit.

In your scenario tho, the CLIFF DWELLERS and the BELTWAY BOYS own the freezer revenue stream and the citizen / voters get the butter. You just may be generous in the split.

2020's ==> 10% to labor, 90% to R&D, PP&E, materials & supplies for military budget

When you turn a 5 dollar hammer into a 500 dollar hammer at an Army base, somebody is getting fat being the middleman. In turn the taxpayers / voters are paying for it. The grunt in the supply line is making way less than the hammers in time and value.

This is why we vote!!!
