Sure, but the Earth has been warming since the last ice age. We're still in an ice age because there is ice at the caps. Ice ages cycle. They cycled before 'climate change' and only a fool would believe that man's industrialization will prevent another ice age from occurring. The next ice age, not global warming, will reset the earth and usher in humanity's demise.

NASA says we can't prevent global warming from happening anyway. So, politicians should keep their hands out of my GD pocket.

NASA says it's too late

I'd like to know your response on my 2 statements from earlier about this and the GMO issue

Well considering that we're not currently in an ice age that isn't particularly surprising is it?

But it doesn't mean that humans AREN'T impacting things.

None of those considerations matter?

It's cute how you think this boils down to 3 or 4 factors

You mean this one? If so, I already responded.

1. The overwhelming majority of scientists that study climate science have concluded that climate change is impacted by humans. However I reject that as a conspiracy due to my conservative views on politics.

2. The overwhelming majority of scientists that study agriculture tell me that genetically modified foods are safe to consume. However I reject that as a conspiracy because big agricultural businesses are evil according to my liberal views on politics.

Please tell me the fundamental difference in the 2 above view points. I'm trying really hard to give you the benefit of a doubt here.

It boils down to at minimum those factors plus others

Your 'hard no' response is fricking baseless

The idea that fuel savings can be summarily dismissed as having 0 economic impact is beyond stupid

But the person might be right. For them, an increase in the cafe standard MIGHT NOT be financially beneficial.

But in reality, high fuel prices (market pressures) did a lot more to change the average consumers mind on overall gas economy than government regulation. It wasn't until we saw $4 gas that hybrids, electric vehicles and models with increased fuel economy became really popular. BUT, on the flip side, if we didn't have the CAFE standard that "forced" manufactures to have those models in place then they wouldn't have been a option for consumers when gas prices rose.

Personally, I'm happy to have a 6 speed transmission in my truck and technological solutions that improves the mileage in my truck. 15-16 mpg (what my F150 gets) is a lot better than 9-10 mpg (What my dads K5 got).

We know that it is a contrived mechanism to redistribute wealth on an international scale because people in the United Nations agencies focused on addressing "Climate Change" admitted this freely and openly way, way back before the advent of the current Digital Age -- back in the late 1980s.

All intelligent and well-informed people who aren't indoctrinated Leftist dupes know this, so, I guess that says something about YOU.

Because I work directly with the scientists that are purporting the bullshite on a daily basis.

It's nothing more than a research gravy train at the moment with scientists taking advantage of the ignorance of the general population and politicians to the fields of stochastic modeling, statistical inference, and non-linear partial differential equation solving.

Not at all baseless. I have centuries of data and examples backing my position.

This is because the sum total of the Pman argument is "I Pman don't know jack shite.........but I can count and there are more people in the room with me..........so, you're all dumb".

Not really

I'm trying to understand why people believe in things that they've given no rational reason to believe in. I know a lot of it has to do with political and confirmation bias. I was hoping this conversation would be more productive but it's a shite flinging fest like most here in the echo chamber

But how is their basis for belief any different than those who think climate change is a hoax?

humanity will be blessed by this warming cycle, and the new charlatan preachers will be out in force to collect on it.

Except this is entirely false. People have given you a basis for their problems with what is going on in climate science. You have either ignored those responses or dismissed them out of hand.

You don't "know" any such thing. You're simply assuming all disagreement with you is based on this......hence, you ignore all arguments based on this assumption.

No you weren't.

If you were, then when I posted my first 2 or three posts, you would have addressed the specific things I addressed in them.

Instead, you asked why I sided with the dullards and to this point, STILL haven't addressed them.

And when Ace Midnight posted and long and detailed post, you just ignored HIM altogether.
