You are kidding, right? You have to be. Please tell me you are.

if you are asking "removal from office" then you need 2/3 of senators present (or 67 if all 100 there) to find the president guilty. Since there are only 47 dems/dem leaning indies, then 10 republicans would have to jump party.

Not good at math?

You just described the "Republican Party", to a T.

Slim to none he actually gets removed from office

Recent Fox polls showing that a majority of Americans now favor impeachment AND removal would suggest otherwise.

I do believe 20 Republican senators can be swayed to convict, once the trial begins in the Senate. It's not about Democrats, or Republicans, or tribal politics; we're talking about the rule of law.

Impeachment is basically a fancy word for indictment.

It means nothing, this is nothing more than a shady smoke show for the dumb libs that think it means he will be removed from office.

This is utter insanity. If we cared about the rule of law, Joe Biden would have some explaining to do. The VP in an administration that aids and abets a Ukrainian coup in February 2014 and then his son gets a job on the board of a Ukrainian gas company only weeks later. Every dime Hunter made is blood money.

Not if they want to win reelection.

Not a chance. Being that close to the election, if Senators see it as a matter of what voters may or may not want.....they're going to punt the decision to the voters and let them decide in November 2020 if Trump should be removed.

90% chance of being impeached. Dems have went too far and have their base too juiced up to turn back now. Base would eat them alive.

5% chance of being removed through trial. Even though Dems want to drag the process out as long as possible to do political damage.

I think everyone is acting like it's a done deal, and I personally don't think it is. If I had to guess, they will drag it out as long as they can, and then argue they don't want to be partisan.

I can only speak for myself, but as an independent this entire thing just rubs me the wrong way, and if they are stupid enough to go through with it, it'll push me hard towards Trump rather than just throwing away my vote.

How or who would need to make the vote private? as citizens who do we contact or what do we do to make this vote private?

. That is so fricking rich.

There is zero chance he is getting removed. I am not even convinced the house will take up a vote.

Laughable at best, pathetic at worst. If you guys even gave one ounce of a shite about the "rule of law", Epstein would be a national issue and Joe Biden would have been forced to leave the race.

You're an idiot if you believe the Senators wouldn't just play Joe Biden stupidly talking about withholding support from Ukraine for his kid on loop during the whole proceeding.

Romeny and maybe Murkowski. You need 18 more. And they would be committing political suicide because regardless of what you want to think, Trump is still VERY popular among Republican voters.

quote:

we're talking about the rule of law
If the rule of law were being applied, Adam Schiff would be in a world of trouble right now for conspiring with the whistleblower before the whistleblower complaint was made. And Joe Biden and his son would be getting perp walked on corruption charges. This impeachment inquiry isn't about the rule of law, its about the House Democrats trying to undo Trump's election. They've been trying for 3+ years. They tried with the Russia hoax, they tried with Stormy Daniels, now they're just on to the next bullshite hoax. In the words of Democratic Rep Al Green "If we don't impeach him, he'll get re-elected". Thats all this who inquiry is about. The House Dems know they'll never get the votes in the Senate to remove him from office or they would've already passed the articles of impeachment. They're just trying to damage him in the eyes of voters ahead of the 2020 election.

Zero chance of removal. The bet is on his possible over reaction to the impeachment to use as a foil in the next election.
