see. this is never going to fly.
at least you're honest about your tyrannical desires. most progs on here act like they want to stop at just background checks

Infringement.

Big time infringement.

could anyone ever imagine a politician honestly proposing a law seeking to require a license to be a journalist, along with annual registration to ensure they're not editorializing without government permission?

- Increased background checks
Such as?

Stricter mental health screening
Such as?
quote:
- Limit of how much ammo can be purchased at one time
This accomplishes what?
quote:
- Tracking of ammunition purchased by a person over time
What else should we track?
quote:
- Banning bump stocks and other modifiers unless a special permit is issued with fees and a training class (I know bump stocks can be made at home for like $5, but they should stop being mass produced)
This accomplishes what? Have you ever heard of a bump stock before Vegas?
quote:
- Stop the sale of guns at gun shows
Why?
quote:
- Reduction in production of semi-automatic rifles
This does what?
quote:
- Introduce a buy back program focusing on semi-automatic weapons only
Details?

Would law enforcement have to comply with this?
that would have to be studied. Perhaps specialized units would have access to higher powered weapons.
2nd amendment rights need to be protected but not at the expense of the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness

How exactly is that an infringement on 2nd amendment rights?

what about other rights?
why not enact more regulation that dissolve the 1st or 4th amendments?

How does the second amendment infringe on any of this?
Details please.

Do you understand licensing? That is the government telling you you cannot do a thing without government approval.
That is the very definition of infringement.
The same with registration.

a. the federal government shouldn't be in the business of regulating intrastate economic activity
b. could you ever imagine requiring journalists to register as such? or churches? sure you can create incentives to registry (like 501c3 designations for churches), but that's bait. i'm talking straight up, independent, non-501c3, churches

It didn't outlaw the manufacturing of new machineguns, it outlawed people from buying them. Where do you think the machineguns Military, LEO, and FFL/SOT come from?

I don't see how any gun restrctions affect the 1st amendment in any way. It talks about freedom of religion to gather, to speech, etc.
s far as the 4th amendment talks about UNREASONABLE search and seizure. A buy back program requiring citizens to turn in some of their weapons that don't meet the guidelines does not constitute UNREASONABLE search and seizure nor is it unreasonable to seach and seize weapons from those who do not comply.
2nd amendment rights would still be protected

I should have clarified, for civilian use.
Obviously military and LEO still can buy new guns.

Yeah you need to do your own research into the facts not simply echo the headline promoting media ..

good try at spinning
many individuals sell guns at gun shows which don't have to follow the same regulations

it doesn't. they're both fundamental rights subject to regulation
we could decrease mass shootings if we banned media outlets from reporting them, especially details on the shooter. why don't we enact that law?
or, like i posted earlier, why not allow the 4th to be suspended for any person who is accused by another of being unstable and with a gun. just let LEO go search the person/property of the suspect without any suspicion or warrant, based on that warning? it will save lives i reckon

How about we enforce the gun laws already on the books? How about we put and keep violent people in prison? How about we hold investigators responsible when someone is reported as being mentally disturbed or making threats yet there is no follow up?
Let's do these things and then we will see if we really have a problem. Right now we have a problem and it is in the enforcement of laws already on the books.
