Despite Joss Whedon being a POS and a general awful human being, he once was able to make damn fine movies and TV shows.

Serenity

( May be more appropriate today than when it was made )

What the Banks did to the housing market knowing there would be no consequences is criminal on a historic level and the GOVERNMENT went right along with it.

I’m no bank lover, but nearly every related bank issue we’ve have in the last few decades is directly caused by government stupidity and with the fuel of stupid citizens thrown on to fuel it.

Cary Grant plays a neurosurgeon on vacation with his wife in a South American country when he is detained and forced to operate on the dictator of said country to remove a brain tumor. Meanwhile, a Marxist revolutionary leader bent on revolution has other ideas.

Grant does a great job portraying a good mam caught between a ruthless authoritarian and the murderous rabble rising up against him. It becomes apparent by the end of the film that the common people are equally screwed whether the dictator survives and remains in power or if the revolution succeeds.

Ultimately, the message conveyed is that powerful government - whether authoritarian or totalitarian - is the enemy of freedom loving people everywhere. The true meaning of conservatism.

The Lives of Others.

In 1983 East Berlin, dedicated Stasi officer Gerd Wiesler (Ulrich Mühe), doubting that a famous playwright (Sebastian Koch) is loyal to the Communist Party, receives approval to spy on the man and his actress-lover Christa-Maria (Martina Gedeck). Wiesler becomes unexpectedly sympathetic to the couple, then faces conflicting loyalties when his superior takes a liking to Christa-Maria and orders Wiesler to get the playwright out of the way.

First time I saw Death Wish was in the 70s on the ABC Movie of the Week. Let's not sleep on Mr. Majestyk, which I also watched as a kid on primetime network tv.

Kersey and Majestyk were guys that shouldn't have been fricked with.

Peaceful white guys who gets pushed into righteous vengeance shown on network TV. Those were the days.
