I was thinking about this the other day. I can remember playing Human Cannonball on Atari as a kid thinking it was the coolest shite ever and now we are building AI swarms to do nearly hands off software coding. Crazy shite.

We are latchkey kids. The kids these days wouldn't know what to do with themselves if you dropped them off in 1985 as kids. The world would either burn or they would mass suicide.

We do get blamed for many, many things out of our control. The OP being one. We are a very small generation sandwiched between two much larger ones. We will never truly hold the political or economic power of either, although we more than hold our own in individual wealth.
Of our two main failure...allowing the rise of both Karen and helicopter parents...helicopter parents was the worst. Not saying anyone here was a helicopter parent, but I guarantee we all knew a few. My 1st wife tried to be one. She failed thankfully.

This is a lie.
I was raised upper class. Both parents were college grads who had successful professional careers. My brother and I were both technically "latchkey" since both parents were still at their professional offices when we returned from school.
We were far from the only ones.
