It is a funny bit of trolling, but the formation of WV was Constitutionally-questionable itself. This would be equally questionable.

I think we now have a pretty clear picture that secession is fine so long as the seceding party can defend themselves militarily.

This would not be secession from the country.. it would be from VA. Everyone just swaps their license plates, change of address forms become scarce, and their taxes go down.
As much of a pipe dream as it would be... this would have libs really melting. The red state of WVA gets more red population and this shifts around some house seats.
