The real embarrassment is that this man was elected the first time and then, in spite of obvious shortcomings, was elected again.

Why would they applaud the POS who shits on the constitution they swore to defend?

All enemies, foreign and domestic... He's fair game if he tramples on it.

Obama's introduction received the heartfelt reception the men and women in the audience felt the office deserved, a polite applause. The lack of enthusiasm in the applause reflects their feelings for the man holding the office.

The men and women who wear the uniforms of military service have an obligation to obey the lawful orders of those above them in the chain of command. They do not have an obligation to pretend any love or affection for those in the chain of command.

O's speech and delivery were dry as dust, so maybe the dearth of enthusiasm was because he built no rapport with the audience. Well, that and the VA scandal, and some of the things he spoke about, and, and.

To be fair, there was a standing ovation near the 42 minute mark, not for O, but for Gavin White, who was in attendance after losing a leg. That applause didn't sound very loud, either, when I'm pretty sure it would have been, so this whole thing could be a result of mic placement not picking up the noise. Crowd noise can be heard in the distant background, if you listen.

Applause or no, I think he lost the audience early on. He certainly lost me.

Disclaimer: I didn't listen to the entire speech of any of the presidents. I was curious, but not to the extent of subjecting myself to that punishment.

IMO, GWB got the best reception, Clinton's speech was best.

Compare, if you wish:

BO

Clinton

GWB

GHWB

Have you studied what this guy is doing to the military ? He has gutted the officers of the militarry by firing any that will not agree with his liberal dogma, by any means necessary.

You will never get this information from the MAIN STREAM PRESS.

The military hate this POS.

I have heard this too. I heard they were asked how they feel about firing on Americans and if they said they wouldn't they were fired. I also heard something very outlandish that I won't repeat here, there is no way it could be true, I hope.

Exactly. Upvoted.

Subordination from your men is required and is an expectation of the commanding officer.

Respect from your men is earned and should not be an expectation of the commanding officer. If he/she treats it as an expectation without feeling the need to earn it, that commanding officer has another thing coming.

Respect is something that is earned, and this jackass in the WH has earned zero respect.

There was no love in 1992 when the military got a CINC who had "loathed the military."

There is nothing wrong with loathing the effects of war, its deaths, and the high toll it takes on people.

That is very different from loathing the individuals involved.

Billy Jeff loved the military when he wanted to get into ROTC for a draft deferment. He only started loathing it when he wanted to get out of ROTC after finding his chances of being drafted were very low.

You can have your political opinions and that's fine, but there was a time in this country when people, especially at a place like West Point, would give proper respect for the office. It's the correct and patriotic thing to do

That's fricking rich...since that has been the primary strategy of Democrats for decades, and is embodied in Obama.

When joining the military you literally become the property of the government. In a real sense you become a slave to them.

So before we throw stones, lets be sure we are aware that we are condemning him for not wanting to become someone else's property.
