I'm 100% Trump, baby! But, (yeah, sometimes there's a but) he is being played like a fiddle here. This evil regime has been schooled by our very own Democratic Party. They know if they drag this so-called "cease fire" out until November, the Dems will take back the house and senate due to a long war with high gas prices. Trump tried a negotiated solution. Kudos for the attempt. 80 sites were bombed. Use what satellite imagery has been discovered along with Mossad Intelligence, take the island and close the tunnels. You can bet every set of eyes watching from above saw every pretend official as they left the funeral.

The US blockaded the oil for almost 2 months. Taking Kharg Island would be a boon for Iran because it would give them the easiest target to strike. Capturing Kharg Island does not give the US much in terms of strategic advantage that blockading the Straight hasn't already garnered, but it comes at a very high cost.
Also, the island is inhabited with tens of thousands of Iranians.

We ALREADY cut off the oil via the blockade and did not kill the snake.
Taking Kharg Island and maintaining it would be incredibly costly in terms of US assets, money, and lives AT BEST, and we would gain no obvious strategic advantage that we wouldn't already have from the blockade.

Kharg Island only holds about 25% of Iran's oil storage and it's current capacity is close to full. What does doing that accomplish that a blockade doesn't?

It’s clear that this is a non cohesive entity/country. There is no way to reach any sort of agreement.

Well i can think of some hostages taken 47 years ago that was never dealt with properly.
It is time to deal with them and i dont mean by negotiation.
If its worth doing it is worth doing right and completely.
And screw China and their special oil deal.
