“While the Orban government may want to wait out the United States government, the United States will certainly not wait out the Orban administration. While Hungry waits, we will act,” Pressman warned.

quote:

Pressman’s speech was delivered at the Central European University (CEU) in Budapest, for an event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Hungary’s accession to NATO. The private institution, founded in the early 1990s by George Soros, has faced a crackdown in Budapest, since Orban accused the Hungarian-born US billionaire of using NGOs to apply political pressure.

quote:

Budapest’s relatively cordial relations with Moscow and its refusal to follow the US lead on the Ukraine conflict were identified by Pressman as major points of contention. Hungary is ignoring the “legitimate security concerns” of the other 31 members of NATO and is “standing with Russia” by advocating a negotiated peace, he claimed, describing the latter as a call for Ukraine’s “surrender and subjugation.”

quote:

Pressman also blasted Hungarian politicians who use nationalist sentiment in domestic campaigning, and depict the US as a meddling foreign power. He called such remarks “wild rhetoric” and “dangerously unhinged anti-American messaging.”

I thought Orban already kicked out a Nuland/Fiona Hill/Pushaw type.

Yes, this speech definitely refutes that.

If I were Orban I would have that ambassador recalled. Just simply kick his arse out.

Interesting that Pressman thinks this administration is on short time that can be waited out.

Ambassadors are an extension of the Executive Branch. Basically the President's representative to whatever country they're in.

One could argue these Ambassadors are doing their jobs extremely well, technically speaking...acting like a bunch of power hungry, globalist assholes.

Pressman has been threatening Hungary the whole time. I think sometimes it's been about LGBT stuff and other times about Hungary's stance on Russia, wanting to continue to do business and trade with Russia, wanting an end to the war etc. Pretty sure they levied sanctions on a bank in Hungary because it was still doing business with Russia.

Pressman is nothing more than a thug. Hungary should expel him.

I think that I and Trump have the same basic position on this issue: stop bullying Hungary, remove sanctions, stop meddling.

Right now I think Hungary is praying that Biden loses in November. If he wins re-election he's going to make life hell for them and we may see "regime change". They've already started the framing of Hungary via ties to Russia.

Complaining about depictions of meddling while meddling? Someone get this man a chutzpah badge.

true.

But I also think one of our chief exports to developing countries seems to be gender warfare.

Putin must just bust out laughing as the US bravado, when he sees the invasion and essentially inevitable dysfunction and collapse that will soon hit our supposedly powerful Nation. And Putin doesn't have to make a move other than to just sit by and wait for the train wreck that comes this November. Europe/NATO is in the same boat.

I seriously doubt that neither Putin, or whomever replaces him in the future will be force by the Transnational Progressives to allow the destruction of the Russian People and Culture via open Borders and DEI insanity. They'll push the 'button' before that.

You would think some of these ambassadors would have second thoughts after Benghazi.

In reality, these "security concerns" simply do not exist except for by our own making.

Soros cronies are intentional meddlers. It's why his people and organizations have been expulsed from several nations and Soros is an open borders lunatic and despises any sense of nationalism.

His whole game is to make the idea of nationalism evil and seen as wrong. The guy is a egomaniacal lunatic and doesn't care about the people or the "consent of the governed". In his mind he's figured it all out and doesn't need your permission, the goal is to manipulate and gaslight.

If I'm Hungary I remove anything Soros from the country immediately and ban any Soros affiliated ambassadors, representatives, or activists.

Destroy all Soros in the country. He has nothing good to bring you other than his utopianism which is guaranteed chaos.

It really isn't our country or even the common people... It is that we have allowed a "ruling class" to dictate policy and ensure their coffers are always full...

The MIC is always going to eat...
