Revelation was written in the "odd" manner because having scripture in many areas was forbidden and would be a death sentence. So when a Roman soldier found these manuscripts on a person it would just be gibberish to them. But, the intended recipients knew what words and numbers symbolized what in their current timeframe. For example, 666 was Nero. When approached in this manner the great book of Revelation "fits" neatly into the bible. All this talk of rapture and the last days is simply imho just misinterpretation. However, it personally doesn't matter to me, I'm ready either way.

A Christian who actually understands Christian scripture without trying to retcon it. I am impressed. Upvote and kudos.

Well consider this, I heard a pastor talking about it a week ago and thought it was interesting: the end time events aren’t left up to Satans timetable. He believes an ultimate battle will happen, but he deceives himself about the outcome, but the one who initiates the prophecies is God. Satan is actually reactionary, therefore he has to be ready to throw down once it becomes clear the time is at hand, and because of that, he has kept an available”anti-Christ” in all generations in case it’s time. And in that vein, it’s not unreasonable to think he would also do test runs and refine his troops throughout time, as he gets ready. Just food for thought …

Correct.

3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. 5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming.

Thank you. I see more clearly now, but it raises more questions in my mind.

He who now restrains him, who is that?

Is there any chance the Antichrist could be AI?

He is gonna take the Holy Spirit or the Lord out of the way? I don't see that. For one, the Lord hasn't shown up in the flesh until after this.

I think AI is more likely to be an image that has life breathed into it, or that could be TV.

Not every day you see someone broadcast that they are an intellectual lightweight and mentally inferior.

Sorry the Bible is to big of a book for your small mind.

My interpretation of the bolded: only God who now restrains it(lawlessness) will continue to do so until he(Holy Spirit meaning the church) is out of the way(taken to heaven)

The antichrist will be a universally liked entity.

Whether a person or an organization, there are very few of those right now that are liked by everyone.

My version doesn't say who restrains him, it says
6"and you know what restrains him now"....etc etc

8"Then that lawlessness one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of his mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming."

Ok, I think you're right about it being the church.

There are a few theories, but the one that makes the most sense is the Holy Spirit within believers.

Here’s a good article: LINK

I really like that site. It always has good common sense interpretations, that I consider to be more than somewhat reliable. Though I do not always agree with it.

In case you haven't read some of these other important notes, I would like to point these out to you.

Jeremiah 51:48
Daniel 11:29-31
Daniel 11:40-42
