We should start reducing oil consumption before inventories fall to record lows

Exxon executives joined other large oil bodies warning of record low inventories
LINK
Trump and other leaders should start pushing work from home and other behavior changes to reduce demand until inventories recover. Waiting until the price starts to rise again before responding will show lack of leadership.

This seems like such a common sense thing to curb demand, and yet people get downvoted into oblivion every time they suggest it. I’m sure the oil lobby is radically against it.

Low inventories have nothing to do with peak oil. Low inventories of SPR has to do with releasing oil in times that showed political weakness.

‘Working” from home is such a crock of shite

Why not just reduce export shipments to maintain the American economy and life style. Let the European carbon elimination nazi's go without

It’s a short term issue but it’s an issue that’s going to carry to midterms when everyone is paying $6-$10 for a gallon.
I’m not saying it should be mandatory and not saying people shouldn’t take vacation. Driving is still way cheaper than other modes of transport. But you rarely see big oil and the IEA agree on inventories. If they’re saying it’s a problem then it’s a problem.

Well then you should support these high prices because they act as a natural rationing function.

Hey C I give you an F on this post.

More oil is being produced now in America than ever before, and much more production is possible. Storage capacity is related having for turbulent conditions, panic is not turbulent conditions. This 6-10 dollar nonsense is a sign that panic has already begun seeping into your world.

Anyone who can work from home is on the front lines of being replaced by AI, so if you want to play that hand, go for it.
I wondered why companies were so adamant about people returning to the office. The tinfoil hat crowd said it was over commercial real estate, but there are two things that are proving to be true:
1) Overall productivity went down with WFH. If it went up, there wouldn't have been a push to return to the office.
2) AI is going to replace the majority of jobs that can be done sitting in your pajama pants. Companies wanted to evaluate which of their employees have the interpersonal skills to do something else.

I'm in Miami right now. It's cheaper to fly here than drive my truck from Louisiana. I flew Southwest which was not terrible but not great.

Please Nostradamas, explain how you know this......
I find it amazing how some folks continually predict Trump's "demise" or how his strategies will all come crumbling down, yet these predictions NEVER come to pass.
Trump still has time left to deal with Iran and oil prices drop before mid terms.

I hope your self-lobotomy was every bit as painful for you as it is for us.

It won’t be rational as local govt have enacted price gouging policies. These will enable runs on stations (eg consider the stupidity that led to runs on toilet paper. ) which will further drive shortages which will lead to more hoarding and panic. Right in the middle of peak summer driving season and Fourth of July holidays. It will be a shite show.

If you can “work from home” AI can easily replace you. I’d be real careful with that “work from home” nonsense.
