It’s an illogical argument and it’s the libertarian argument for legalizing all drugs.
No, what is illogical is proclaiming this endless “War On Drugs” is finally going to succeed simply because Trump is now President. Decades of Drug Prohibition and the “War On Drugs” has not only failed, it has increased demand. And this in turn has increased the profitability of the illicit drug trade: it is a never ending cycle that simply fuels it’s own existence.

Here's an honest question for anyone still reading at this point...
Is there anyone here who doesn't know someone who has died of a fentanyl overdose? I personally knew two, a young man and a young woman. The kid who sold it to the young man was charged and convicted of murder, and is doing his third year of life in prison (GOD Bless Oklahoma).
If you don't know someone, consider yourself lucky.

Let me know when Venezuela or Columbia troops land on US soil or they launch nukes at us.

I'm sure the evidence is just as strong as fentanyl being on any of the boats we blew up. MAYBE all of this true...but at some point, the Trump Administration needs to offer SOME proof.

He’s high on contrarianism, as are most progs and libs. Being a dick and creating a controversy releases the dopamine.

That is unfortunate.
I still have trouble believing that it is anything resembling "common."

Maduro is absolutely bad news. I still think these strikes will have a negligible effect on drug trafficking here. And who knows if we’re consistently hitting drug traffickers.
That part aside, there’s a military buildup off the Venezuelan cost and potentially plans to strike targets on land there, and I think that needs to be the subject of a better debate than we’ve had.

My feelings here are very complicated. I don’t think being a flawed human should be a death sentence.
That said, I also don’t think we’re demanding enough responsibility from people with addiction problems. And to some extent that’s a problem of both libertarian and new progressive “they’re not hurting anyone but themselves” attitude.
California’s homeless problem gives you a chance to see in the open the results of drug abuse that happens a lot behind closed doors in other states.
I’m not sure what the answer is, but I think it’s going to have to include more personal responsibility than we have now + the will to help people fix their problem.

Exactly. What people dont realize is Fentanyl became a thing for addicts because of Drug prohibition

And it’s shocking what people with untreated addiction will do themselves.

Agree. The only successful way to attack the drug war is from the demand side, and I doubt the courts would allow penalties that stiff for possession.

The same is true with these strains of cannabis that are up to ten times more hallucinogenic than strains just 50 years ago. And this desire for more ever potent and psychoactive strains of cannabis can be directly attributed to these failed prohibition policies brought to us by the War On Drugs.
The significant legal risks associated with cannabis trafficking, including lengthy incarceration, created a powerful incentive for producers to maximize their profits. As a response to the War On Drugs, many cannabis cultivators sought to produce more potent — and thus more profitable — strains of weed, offering smugglers and dealers a higher level of return for the same level of risk.

Now document all the havoc, ruin and death brought on by alcohol abuse. Alcohol related deaths far exceed those of opioid overdoses in the United States.

This guy continues to show how ignorant and ill informed he is (Bunk fits you well).
It’s not just over “drugs” you clown.
They are sending trained terrorist from Middle East & Africa thru Venezuala and then up the Darian Gap you idiot.
It’s been going on by the Deep State to set up terror cells through the country & t nast head is about to show its face, watch!
And lastly, The Doninion Voting Machines were created for Venezuala back in 1999-2000 Chavez implantation for communism entry into S. America. And their overlords on that front are Chyna & Iran, and they implemented that system into our voting system.
They are attached to us by land you moron. Many things that they cannot get into our country thru normal channels are being organized in Venezuala.
Venezuala & Maduro need a body check! My wife is Venezualan and had to grow up in that shite & we pray that the USA drops some drone bombs on some heads and de-thrones communism in Venezuala, it effects us here in the USA, but your little brain can’t do one ounce of your own self-thinking and investigations and listen to your dumbass compadres.
Go play in traffic, nobody likes you here

Trump is doing the bidding of the deep state that you despise to justify another endless conflict.

The drug boats are a good start. Now we should be sending Reapers to take out the labs in Mejico.
