We shall see.
Time to stuff electronics in my Faraday bags and cages I guess.
.... and the cookie tins.

It’s hard to trust a guy in that shirt.

Near carrington level is the click bait title.
I do watch Stefan Burns though. I’ve never seen someone explain solar weather better than he does.
Its also been an interesting experience learning from someone so specific in their scientific understanding of solar/space weather tie it into astrology symbols that tie to positions of the planetary bodies and the different geometries.
All that to say I do think his videos are worth a watch, but he does lean into the youtube channel markting a bit much to pull views.

I haven't seen a fashion faux paus since Jerry wore the puffy shirt.

The shirt and hair do. Is this guy trying to start a cult?

I see you possess the understanding of how potentially bad things can and eventually will get.
And just an FYI for anyone who may actually want to Faraday-cage some things, a galvanized trash can sealed with aluminized tape is an easy and relatively inexpensive option that can hold larger items like a mid-sized solar generator and some small panels.

A massive solar flare, or an EMP from a skyburst nuke, will get us, eventually.
I remember well the big blackout in '89. And that was kid games.
The Carrington Event is the one most people know about ... but few understand the ramifications it had that caused Tesla to think about pulling energy directly from the atmosphere. (He's since been proven correct.)
There are other reasons to do simple things to prepare for an EMP.
In his first term, Trump made it a priority to harden our military, and some of our infrastructure, against EMPs and geomagnetic storms. There's still a lot to do in that regard.
Newt Gingrich read parts of One Second After to Congress (highly recommended series of books) that motivated Congress to act during Trump’s first term. (Gingrich was an invited guest at the time.)
It's going to happen. We've dodged a bunch of bullets ... but we'll get popped, eventually.
My wife and I lived in Honolulu for awhile. I was in a Veterans Day parade with Tulsi Gabbard. That night we had a Lu?au and I got to have a conversation with some old timers who were kids when the Starfish Prime outage occurred. It was no joke.
China and Canada (now in cahoots) make all of our big transformers.
Trump is bringing production back to the U.S.

Your knowledge of these things is impressive. I try my best to get more people to open their eyes to how vulnerable we are and how fragile this modern society truly is. I'm happy to report that I've gotten through to some of my kids' friends, and they're paying attention. I'm GenX and I honestly don't think many from this generation are going to see it if they already haven't.
People have absolutely no idea of the cataclysmic ramifications of an EMP or massive Carrington Event in these times with such dependency upon technology. A single high altitude nuclear EMP could absolutely fry the grid and all devices and modern vehicles across half of the US. Transportation would be down. No banks. No commerce. No supply chain logistics. Extremely truncated medical and emergency services. No communication. Martial Law. And whatever you've got right now, is all you're getting.
We're talking widespread, mass chaos and death beginning at the 72-hour mark and peaking at around the nine month mark. And, as you stated, it truly isn't "if", but when. It's going to happen. We're already well overdue for another Carrington Event.
I've actually been paying quite a bit of attention to the permaculture crowd and learning a lot about native medicinal plants and how to make tinctures and decoctions from what's out there that we've just forgotten about over time. This is a bountiful land in which we live, that provides us with more than we need. Man existed for millennia without all these modern conveniences and amenities, and we can do so again if necessary. There is hope.
