We are at war with the shadow oligarchy that rules the world. This is why Trump’s first visit during his first term was to Saudi Arabia. Then shortly after he left, there was a massive corruption purge and consolidation of power within the Saudi Royal Family, and Trump’s ally MBS now runs the show, while corrupt princes like Alwaleed bin Talal were strung upside down inside the Ritz in Riyadh and forced to give up their power.
Much of what we are seeing occur today, is directly in response to the 9/11 attacks, which leads back to Saudi Arabia. All very big pieces of the puzzle.

Any abilities Iran had pre-"war" would have been used at some point. They will never back down until they are destroyed.

Iran is very much a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" dilema.
At least Trump is doing something about it. If he's damned either way, might as well take out as much Iranian military infrastructure as possible.
