China stockpiles are at best three months of products and the supply chain on the manufacturing side is broken. They have entire regions of people on lockdown and not reporting for work. The reason I bring this to the board is a lot of factories we buy from are in regions that also produce a lot of the materials needed for medicines for the world.

When the supplier is found to make up for the shortfall, please post their ticker symbol here as soon as you know. K thx.

Perhaps. Or it will all play out in the next few weeks and things will be back to normal.

I work for a large computer distribution company and we have had many meetings about shortage in computer parts business. Intel shortages have been going on for over a year with no end in site actually getting worse. All prices are going up and a fair amount and we expect thing to continue to go up and supply to stay short until middle of summer. We are hold extra inventory so hopefully we will make it. But you can expect computers, servers and all pc stuff to continue to increase in price. There is nand shortage and this flu stuff has not helped making things worse caused shortage to spread to just about every part in a pc or server.

Would you please clarify your claim here? Are you saying they are about to start going up in price or are you saying there is an extant trend of computers going up in price and this is just adding fuel to the fire?

NAND shortage has been an issue on and off for the past 2-3 years. A few years ago prices increased by like 100% for a while. No doubt this will make it worse.

Interesting. I know that market moves around somewhat, but the long-term trend is certainly still down, no?

I finally got a new desktop about 6 months ago and I was shocked at how cheap it was, especially given how bad arse I spec-ed it out.

Remember Nancy telling us that Obama Care would free Americans from having to work to maintain our affordable healthcare?

Under Obama Care, we could quit our jobs and take up our favorite hobbies without fear of losing healthcare. If we're all busy painting, sculpting, writing poetry, or learning an instrument then we're gonna need others to step up on that food, fuel, medicine and weapons manufacturing.

Computers have been going up in price for the last year pretty consistently. It is a little at a time but up. Intel shortage is getting worse and I have had meetings with Lenovo, HP, and Acer about supply shortage and they seem to all be pushing amd cpu hard. Let me put it this way we ordered two containers of coolermaster cases last week and usually takes three months to get this gonna take four months at the earliest they said. Lenovo orders about half last month were pushed back thirty days the others half just cancelled due to lack of products. Hp same thing they say push Amd. NAND memory shortage is driving up memory and ssd drives. The virus is making supply chain which was strained worse. All brands of stuff is seeing shortages and yes prices will go up. We are charging more and it will hit stores and online places pretty fast I think. Consumers still get a heck of a box for not much money though considering. But up in price for sure I. A notebook last year that was high 400's is now same specs about 620.00 but now you do get a ssd but otherwise same specs.

So is your next step the government telling you what industry you have to work in so Christmas lights cannot be controlled by other nations?

Maybe Maxine Waters should be in charge in the name of national security. She can tell you that you have to work on a south Florida coffee bean farm because we have to produce coffee and not rely on other countries to supply coffee beans.

Maybe Trump can tell you where to work. You need to making MREs in name of national security.

It is insanity to have as a goal no imports of food, fuel, medicine or weapons.

Did anyone say that?

It would be equally insane to be completely dependent for any one of those on a questionably hostile communist country

Yes

You boys want the government to restrict imports in the name of security--the Soviets and the Chinese want that too--do you want them to allocate labor and capital in name of security too??

Okay, you can import as many cheap Christmas lights as you want.

No, it's insanity not to have a goal of no imports for food, fuel, medicine or weapons.
