A guilty plea was unsealed in the case of a former Trump campaign adviser who lied to the FBI about being approached by a professor with close ties to the Russian government. The professor told the adviser in April 2016 that Moscow had “dirt” on Hillary Clinton in the form of thousands of e-mails, according to court documents.
The plea by the adviser, George Papadopoulos, represents the most explicit evidence connecting the Trump campaign to the Russian government’s meddling in last year’s election, the New York Times reported
“I think absolutely this Papadopoulos plea announcement and his cooperation agreement with the government is a more significant development [than Manafort’s charges], at least in the short run,” said Samuel W. Buell, a Duke Law professor who last year published the book “Capital Offenses: Business Crime and Punishment in America’s Corporate Age.”
Buell noted that court filings in Papadopoulos’s case include e-mails showing “they’re talking about something that at least raises the inference of an exchange of dirt on Hillary Clinton the Russians have for efforts to test a relationship between Donald Trump and the Russians. If this isn’t evidence of collusion, then nobody understands what the word ‘collusion’ means.”
Papadopoulos repeatedly tried to arrange a meeting between the Trump campaign and Russian government officials, court records show.

Wasn't he essentially an unpaid intern that couldn't accomplish setting up meetings?

I don't think it is a coincidence they unsealed his guilty plea today. I find it pretty interesting that Mr. Gates is getting a new lawyer too.

i mean a bombshell as in it's a shock? yes, obviously
a bombshell as in dangerous for Trump? meh. it may be down the road, but it's not a "bombshell"
