No, they were sent because she and some guy named Anthony were posting on social media about how they were going to trespass on a County Commissioner's property and dump garbage there.

No she did not say that she was going to do any of that, at all. She suggested the other guy replace garbage bags with mask.

Not once did she state, jokenly or not, that she was going to commit any crime.

What is it with you and posting your bullshite.

You need to quit being dishonest with the way your phrasing or framing your narrative of what actually happened

This wasn't about "anti-mask" this was about local political and police overreach. Had she agreed never said "Mask" but gone ahead and just echoed Anthony's "garbage", the outcome would have been the same.

It is not an either/or debate. The FB discussion would not even have occurred if not for the debate over masks. The mandates surrounding this entire COVID-1984 pandemic are part and parcel of Police State overreach.

Who answers the door while filming?
Deputy needs to check his dress code.

You're right, I was wrong in taking the cop's interpretation of that as my example.

My greater point still stands though. This story is not about cops being called because a woman made an anti-mask joke on Facebook (as the headline infers). This story did not happen because of some Anti-Mask Gestapo Task Force monitoring social media, it happened because some asshat local politician/drama queen went off the rails when some locals joked on FB about dropping garbage and masks (or "Mask") on their lawn so they called the cops to warn the posters off.

And there is the rub. The woman’s comments, in context of the FB discussion, could not be construed as a reasonable threat. And that is why the visit is correctly being characterized as a Police State intimidation tactic to quell political free speech.

That I agree with. But the woman in the video never said she was going to drop of anything at anyone's house. She never posted anything that indicated that she was going to commit a crime.

Does it?

My take is that both of the below are true.

This story IS about the cops being called because a woman made an anti-mask joke on Facebook (as the headline infers).

This story happened because some asshat local politician/drama queen went off the rails when some locals joked on FB about dropping garbage and masks (or "Mask") on their lawn so they called the cops to warn the posters off.

There's a reason for that: it's warranted. I can see your points, I agree with them and am not arguing it was not over-reach. Do I need to buy some fricking flags and spell that out in semaphore?

What I am arguing is the OP's and the website's using anti-mask sentiment to lead people into believing that she made an anti-mask joke and immediately the Anti-Mask Police showed up to threaten her for daring to joke about masks.

I agree. I've stated over and over this was over-reach.

Yeah. It still is. No matter how much you’re “fact-checking it.”

I don't know... Someone that dramatic, I can't help but believe they would have pulled something like this on someone over something else (if they hadn't already and it just didn't make news because it wasn't a hot-button issue).

This we can agree on, and this is when law enforcement can make a stand & say “we’re not gonna police speech”. I’ve seen some departments do that by refusing to enforce mask orders or gathering orders for the holidays against the mayor’s wishes. This is only the beginning I’m afraid.

Never mind the lack of grammar or sense in that run on bullshite sentence, I just wonder how you decide which threads to jump into and take over with your incessant crybaby semantics bullshite? Is it just random or is there a plan involved. Legit question.

No, it's really not, at least not if you're being intellectually honest. Had she just said "Yeah, garbage" they still would have shown up at her doorstep but we wouldn't know about it because the OP and his hack-tastic website wouldn't have the buzzword of "mask" to catch attention and infer some Anti-Mask Almost Secret Police zooming around to scold anyone because they make derogatory mask comments.

On another note...

I love how you've created this mythology around me to assuage your addiction to confirmation bias. Your attention is quite flattering.

You are simply splitting hairs. These Gestapo did not occur in a vacuum: they were triggered by criticism over these mask mandates.

You avoided my earlier questions.
I’ll post them again.

Was she serious about dumping masks or was she joking?

What are you basing that determination on?

Sorry, I must have missed while reporting in at Fact Checker Central.

Of course she wasn't serious. I've stated time and again in multiple posts in this thread that the cops being called was over-reach. Serious question: what more of an answer are you looking for? I ask because I've answered that question multiple times already.

If you're reading only the responses to your posts, go back and read my other responses first.

So she was joking about dumping masks in a person’s yard in response to odd restrictions about people not wearing masks and that doesn’t qualify as a “joke about masks” in your world. Cool.
