I will bet the vote is split between Biggs (A good fiscal MAGA guy BTW) and Jordan

They need to all compromise on one. I think they vote until a Speaker is chosen; but Hank will pipe in and tell us if I am wrong

JJ compromising negotiations.

Dems watching will think Jeffries will be Speaker. He would need republicans, and even the c-span lady said it won't happen.

He doesn't need any Republican votes. He just needs to win the majority of votes. News agencies are saying 218 votes are required. That's not true. It's just a majority of the votes. Pelosi won with only 216 votes in 2021.
quote:

The incumbent speaker, Democrat Nancy Pelosi, was elected to a fourth (second consecutive) term, defeating Republican Kevin McCarthy 216–209, with two votes going to other individuals. As only 427 representatives in the 435-member House cast a vote (due to vacancies, absentees, or members voting present), 214 votes were necessary in order to win.

Republicans are in a great position to frick up here. If enough Republicans sit out he can be elected Speaker with only 212 votes.

Republicans are such a trash party, win house and can’t even come together to put a viable speaker in charge. I really don’t know what’s worse R’s or D’s

At least Republicans won't elect a moron like Hakeem Jeffries.

MTG talking to Scalise.

I have a feeling they will compromise with Scalise. He doesn't have the Cally fundraising bucks but he will bring the gumbo.

It looks like JJ is writing up an agreement? Counting votes? I would want it in writing and signed as well.

Biggs is a fresh start and too good to be true. They will compromise.
