Is there any objective evidence of such? The only thing we know is a white cop killed a black man.

How do we know the incident wouldn’t have happened with someone of any race? This has been a lingering question.

There hasn't been a shred of evidence to suggest it was racism in any way.

The guy died bc he was high as frick not bc he was black. That set into motion the chain of events to cause his death.

No.

also, it was not murder (which requires some level of intent). It was negligent homicide and it was the outcome of shitty policing.

No. Just bad training and lack of humanity.

No. It was either an overdose or a personal vendetta between he and Chauvin.

What’s baffling to me is how the murder of Ahmaud Arbery (which was clearly racially motivated and fits the BLM narrative perfectly) was put on the back burner by social activists when the George Floyd video went viral. I’ll never understand why they chose to build the movement around Floyd... while Arbery is like a 4th or 5th option.

I was thinking the same thing. I guess they needed a bigger boogey man (police) to start another round of "we're being hunted in the streets" narrative.

Ignorance isn't bliss anymore with all the stupidity going on now.

It's because this situation included classic question/issue of police excessive force. In fact, IMO that's the actual relevant question in this case regardless of color, but it was hijacked obviously.

based on the autopsy report, George Floyd had a lethal fentanyl blood level at the time of death. Basically, nearly every human that has a fentanyl level that high dies from it. While there was no reason to have a knee on his neck for that amount of time, George Floyd would have died even without it.

I agree with this. Then they naturally shift the movement from police to all white people, then to pancake syrup, American heritage/history, and most recently... politeness and personal responsibility.

This snowball effect may very well cause Chauvin to be viewed as the next Gavrilo Princip.

Know why you have never heard about the party affiliation of the police officer charged with his murder?

I know why...

Yes. That is it. One dude in a cop uniform killed another dude. He should go to jail. He has been arrested and charged.

The mob usually waits until AFTER the crooked cop gets let off to riot, but our useful idiots started riots for quite literally no valid reason.

No. MPD is a multi-ethnic department, with multi-ethnic leadership and there were POCs in the group that arrested George Floyd. Do those cops need better training? Almost certainly.

Did they do anything to George Floyd he hadn't already done to himself? Not really. EMS response being slow didn't help, but Mr. Floyd was fricked up on drugs and that accelerated his demise. He asked to lie down. He was allowed to lie down. He was clearly in an altered mental state and impaired and cops probably need better training on that.

But, he was also a big guy and resisting even while cuffed. A tragic outcome, nonetheless, but I don't even think this was manslaughter, much less murder. "Misadventure" is about the best I can do in describing it.
